    Three dead animals

with maggots. I found three dead animals this week with maggots coming out of them. The first one was a dead mouse right after the 4th of July, the next was an adult squirrel and then 2 dead black birds on the same day, all with maggots and the smell of death, of which I had to scoop up with a shovel and remove them from the property. I feel kind of creepy about it, like on a scary movie. Lets me know how short life really is and how we will quickly evolve into maggots one day or, when that kid was eating maggots in the lost boys vampire movie

Well, not really wanting to gross anyone out--***FAIR WARNING***--if you gross out easily, stop reading NOW!

We had a rat get up into the attic sometime last week, and die amidst the insulation in the crawlspace in the ceiling above where we have our main computer station. We noticed a rank odor, but could not find it. We put out rat bait as we had had trouble before, but could find nothing when 'hub went into the attic to look.

The next day, 'Hub was sitting at the computer typing, when something dropped onto his arm from above. It was a maggot!!!! We looked at the ceiling panels and there were hundreds of them on the tiles. EEWWWWW!!!

So after lots of bug spray, lysol spray and other rigorous cleaning rituals, 'Hub located the dead rat, which was by then a skeleton. That area was thoroughly bug-sprayed and cleaned.

Sheeesh! Talk about a horror movie.......

You two are 'sick'! (OK, for safety reasons, I shall exclude Mrs.). Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. We have personal experience with this, our best friends are Morticians. 'Hub

awe. the poor kitty. you had it worse than me, welcome home little kitty in maggot form. that is sad & gross. all the ones I found were not close pets but wild animals. it is still creepy for some reason. I have found a lot of dead animals and no problem with death or with any of that but not 3 in a row right in the middle of the live stinky maggot stage.

        ack

No, this was a RAT, a large one by the look of the skeleton. Have no love for rats.

A few years ago, my husband came home to find our refrigerator had died while we were away for 2 weeks. In July.

I only heard about it, and I am REALLY glad I chose to visit my mom before coming home so I didn't have to clean it up. Apparently it was really "evolving" along...

                  Yuck.
