Now for a little good news....

Ok, I know this post will probably get a little bashin' by pessimists, but a little good news never hurt anybody, right.

Time for a little positive stuff to be spread. (Article below)

And , oh yeah-WE HAVE A NEW PUPPY! (highly recommended for boosting those love endorphins in the family) Kids are estatic, cheap entertainment, and the other doggy in our fam thinks she has the best play toy ever. Plus, we have gone for walks for hours every day spreading the "puppy love" to the neighborhood, everybody smiles and comes over when they see her.Nothing like a bouncy puppy to make you forget your troubles for a few minutes!

June 2, 2009: High Points In The U.S. Economy
    June 2, 2009 1:42 p.m. EST

    Mitchell Jaworski - AHN Reporter
Washington, D.C. (AHN) - Positive developments across a broad range of the economy were made known Tuesday as banks reported successful stock offerings and the housing market produced its most active month in many years.

Several banks, including JP Morgan, Bank of America and Morgan Stanley have raised more than $19 billion recently in an effort to fund the repayment of TARP money.

The move shows Washington that the banks are capable of functioning without government support as investors have been willing to eat up secondary stock offerings with sentiment for the financial sector improving.

JP Morgan has raised $5 billion in funds while Morgan Stanley has sold $2.2 billion in additional stock. American Express had raised $500 million thus far.

Goldman Sachs took a different approach and sold its stake in the Commercial Bank of China for $1.9 billion.

Bank of America has been the most active $7 billion over the past week for a total of nearly $33 billion in fresh capital attained since the early May release of the government's "stress test" results.

Elsewhere, the U.S. housing market continues to show signs of improvement. The National Association of Realtors reported a 6.7 percent increase in April existing home sales.

The result blew-out economist estimates for a modest 0.5 percent increase and marks the largest one-month increase in roughly eight years.

As for the automotive sector, General Motors is taking another positive step as reports have stated the automaker has struck a deal with Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Co. of China for the sale of its Hummer brand.

GM has also announced that it has 16 potential buyers for its Saturn brand and three possible suitors for its ailing Saab brand.

Who needs a better economy when you have a puppy!

I love to look at and snuggle puppies.. then hand them back to their owner. I don't have patience to train them. My dog was 1 year when I adopted him and that was perfect!

The avatar is my Hamster who is patiently waiting to dance. My daughter picked that little thing up at the mall last week from a boutique for me. She didn't know about the hamster dance for bk discharge here so funny that she just randomly saw that and thought to get it for me. Appropriate no?

You will have to get clever with some CGI coding pretty soon to make that baby shake her booty!

Better get Albacore ready with some Margaritas too!

We need to get that Cali BK party rockin' pretty soon.

Yes Maam! We got our furkid, a Shih Tzu, in 9/03. She was 6 weeks old. My DH was getting ready to have major back surgery & he wanted a house dog. Well, I looked on the internet to find out which dogs didn't shed & narrowed it down to a poodle or shih tzu. So I told him ok, thinking it would be a month or so before he found one.

Next day, he calls me at work to tell me he will pick me up to drive about 1 1/2 hrs. to this breeder's house. Hmmmm, first trip was to PetsMart & other various Pet Stores. When we got home that night with our furkid, we were $750 poorer.

DH gets down on the floor and plays with her when he is home. He says she keeps him 'Active' & on a smaller scale she keeps me active moving my body as I am disabled. However, I am with her 24/7 & honestly it's just like having a toddler in the house.

She knows when I am hurting. I had skin cancer surgery in Mar. & she usually sleeps on my left shoulder. But she didn't for several weeks as surgery was in the front below my collarbone.

Hubby was in the hospital for a week in April. He had to keep his leg propped up in his big recliner for 2 weeks after that. She knew he couldn't get down on the floor, so she would jump up in his lap (i had to get a pillow for her) & would spend hours laying there.

I read all the time about furkids going to nursing homes & older people are enlighten by their visits. I've read where ponies help children with Cerebral Palsy & muscular diseases...helps move their body & changes their attitudes.

                Furkids are the Best!

You know what I like best about this thread, and I am being 100% serious.

I posted the info about the economy, kind of as a break from all the negative news that had been posted.

But I absolutely LOVE the fact that our little community focused on the puppy news and party planning rather than the dumb old economy. Not one word was said about it , and I actually love that.

You gotta focus on the little bits of fun and good times and just kind of let the rest that is pretty much out of our control take its course, cause there isn't a whole lot we can do.

Its the simple things in life that really do make life better.

Wouldn't that be the best party ever! We should do it, meet somewhere in the middle, have a bonfire with the credit cards we no longer can use, burn the mortgage papers for those that foreclosed. Maybe we could get a sponser, like Budweiser, beer of the bankrupt.

Or hell, get some Pabst BLue Ribbon or Schlitz!

OMG! Do they even make the two above beers. I can remember in College drinking the Schlitz Malt Liquor in the small cans. O and I loved Cherry Vodka. Now I will not eat anything with cherries in it.

My grandmother drank Pabst. After her husband died, she refused to eat..lost the will to live. Mom took her to the doctor & told him she wouldn't eat, but would drink 3-4 Pabt's Blue Ribbon a day. Doctor told mom, if that's all she wanted, let her be. Crap she was 84. My Grandfather was 94 when he died. My dad is still alive & a kicking. He will be 90 in Dec.

Yes, dingdong, nobody did comment on the economy part of your post. We all focused on PMA - Positive Mental Attitude. How? With your New Puppy!

Sometimes, we need to 'leave our fear of troubles, weakness & instability alone' for awhile. Dam throw them out the back door. Umph, they will still be there in a week BUT some of them might have been resolved

                          Niters

                          Luci

PS I got a Brother and an Aunt in CA. May I please have an invitation to the Party?

I think we could open up the party to all 50 states, but remember, this is an elite "VIP" party, you have to be either Bankrupt, in such financial dire straits that you are considering bankrutpcy, or discharged and like Pabst Blue Ribbon.

(Cause if you are discharged, you should have changed your lifestyle to accomodate a more frugal way of living-I suppose we could also accept people who are discharged and drink Schaefer beer.)

HAHAHA-just kidding drink whatever you want.

Remember Schaefer-big time high school beer in my day-super cheap-( not that I drank in HS or anything-wink wink)

Hey I'm going to CA next week...can I join the party too? That would be a hoot! But I think that I would bring Boonesfarm apple-flavored wine. Use to cost about a buck a bottle.

Funny you should mention a puppy. We have been looking to get one the week after I get back from CA (adult daughter is graduating from college) to help with potty training. However, we want a Golden Retriever...they have the best personalities ever and their bladders can hold it all day long...wink wink! I too think the simple joys in life are coming back to our family now. For instance, we go to the park at least once a week for my toddler son since it is free and he picks flowers (really weeds) and sees how far he can throw rocks. Then we have started checking out books from the library every two weeks instead of buying them. And to be honest, I'm liking it. Now hopefully the puppy will be just another simple pleasure.

                              Great post!
