We quit paying credit cards in Feb '08, retained a lawyer in April of '08 tried to keep car and house but couldn't get enough money to pay lawyer, so we gave up car in July '08, then decided we couldn't swing house payment so we quit paying that in August of '08. Finally paid off lawyer in March '09 got paper work filed, had our 341 in April '09, now just waiting for our discharge. We moved out of our house in March. Only person to come to our door was for the foreclosure of the house. Just took the notices from the people and they left. I worried myself sick, I would just get sick at work and couldn't figure it out. After the doc's and an mri I figured out it was stress induced. Once i figured it out and realized that it couldn't get any worse I relaxed a little more. Don't worry about waiting un Oct to file, you should be fine. Once I paid my lawyer $50 I retained him referred all creditors to them and I usually never heard from them again.
I'm now considering filing in March or April of 2010 because of the need for something to fall out of the 2 year look back window. I'm told it will probably be a nonissue but just to be safe. In the meantime, a wage garnishment or a lawsuit is my biggest fear which would force me to file sooner (no prob if its a 13 because I finally found a job). Although it will take a while for my creditors to figure out I found work again, and I'm being careful about who I give the specifics to.

As far as my well-being. It would be great if it wasn't for the fears mentioned above. Even the eye twitch is slowly releasing its hold on me, it only acts up when I'm thinking about finances. There have also been some terrible family fights over whether or not to accept loans. My Mom was insisting I take $200 per month from her, but it was loaded with conditions, lectures, and whining about what she could be doing with it if she wasn't giving it to me. I finally said I didn't want her damn money and that it wasn't worth it.
