Chapter 7 and New Credit Card

I was told by my lawyer it would be okay to apply for a credit card even before my 341 meeting. I have done this and I have 2 credit cards coming that are not secured credit cards for 2 banks. They gave me a low limit $300.00 but in time I can build it up and it reports to all the credit bureus. Has anyone out there gotten credit cards just after filing bankruptcy and before the 341 meetings. Especially un-secured ones.

I had a good credit score before I got sick and had to claim bankruptcy and I am re-affirming 2 cars (never been late) and my home which I just refinanced. Was all this taken into consideration

rmab I'd remove your email address from your signature or post, that's just to dangerous and will lead to probably some bot picking it up and sending you a lot of spam.

Your lawyer told you incorrectly, hopefully it won't cause any problems. After filing you can't take on new credit without the trustees approval.

Hopefully they will survive the bankruptcy, that is the banks don't cancel them after pulling your credit report in a few months.

How long post discharge can you apply? Or does it matter as you are discharged?

As soon as you are discharged you can apply without needing to inform the Trustee or getting his permission.
