I posted in the general bankruptcy group and explained my sad story, now I'm worried about getting flamed at a time when I just need to unload. I've spent some time tonight, about 3 hours, reading hundreds of posts and there appears to be some bickering going on, but with a handful of people, the mods seemed on top of it.

So am I in the right place?

The overall site is fantastic, at least I think I can sleep tonight (I meet with a chap 7 attorney tomorrow morning).

Hi Tatt2monster...if you read the forum rules, you will notice that this forum is well monitored and while disagreements and arguments are normal, if they get out of hand it is taken care of. Name calling, bashing, etc. can result in temporary or permanent bans. Take a few minutes (and anyone reading this) to familiarize yourself with the rules which are posted at the top of every forum.

Have no fear of getting flamed here. You might get different opinions on questions, so you have to check things out yourself or with your attorney.

No one here is going to judge you for filing BK and the relief you get will be overwhelming.

This forum is suprisingly tame when it come to fights and everything that that implies. Most internet forums are full of fights and name callings and flaming - makes you not even want to go to them. I have stopped posting on other forums before because of that myself. But Not this one - I am glad about that. When you going through BK, the last thing you need is for anyone to make you feel bad about yourself even more than you already do. I feel so much better about my decision after coming here.

There is always some disagreement and a little bit of tension here and there on any online forum but it is surprisely so low here. I think because everyone that comes here is so new to this and is scared or worried and wants any advice and support they can get - it makes for a nice community and good learning experience.

Everyone situation is different so there is no reason for you to be flamed. I am going to go and read your story right now, tatt2.

This board has been immensely informative, but also a place to feel like what I am going through is not as awful as it seemed at first. I hope that you will find it to be helpful in the same way. This board is not big on all the hearts and flowers stuff, but I wouldn't want it to be. It is big on people with experience and knowledge sharing it as best they can with a mix of all types of wisdom.

I have received wonderful guidelines and info here. Had it not been for this forum, I probably would never have filed bankruptcy. They were so helpful it was almost unbelievable. When I found it, I started reading just as you did and all of the information was most helpful. Actually until recently, this place was a godsend. The only time I actually saw anything offensive was not at the forums dealing with us filing bankruptcy, but at the forums where you can speak in general and someone refered to our president as "bamma" which is a racist term, but most times even with the arguments folks have, they still give out great information.
