How to add the updates to the bottom of my posts?

I've noticed a lot of people add updates about their bk to the bottom of their posts.
For example at the bottom it will say something like Filed 2/12/08 Discharged 5/12/08
Its not part of their message, it's like added to the blue section around their post.
I would like to be able to do the same and kinda keep readers updated on where I'm at in my bk. Thanks for the help.
