Hi Floridian: is Nicky truly doing better? 'Hub and I really do hope so.

'Hub sent you a PM. The message contained in it is sincere.

HUGGSS to you and Nicky and your other cat-children.

Well I never thought I'd be back responding to this thread so soon...but I had to put my best friend of 22 years to sleep today .. I have been crying non stop since 7am. I knew it was coming, as he has been limping and sleeping a lot for a month or so. Finally he stopped eating and drinking and yesterday I decided today was the day.

I got Kitty when I was 7 years old. Hes slept next to my head for the past 22 years, except for maybe a dozen times.
      RIP Kitty 1987- Feb 3, 2009

Im so sorry for your loss. I'm a cat lover, and I have a 17 yr old Siamese that is in renal failure. She also has hypertension. I know her time is coming, and it's going to devastate me when it does. I'm so sorry for what you're going thru.

I am so sorry to read of your loss. Just know that your best friend is playing and romping and jumping and climbing like he hasn't been able to in a while.

Know also that your best friend will always be your best friend and watch over you.

I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved kitty! It was his time...when they stop eating and drinking that is your sign that it's time. We had to put down our beloved Dachshund of 15 years in October 2007 (cancer) and it was the hardest thing to do but he would not eat or drink he was so ill. Rest assured you gave your kitty a marvelous life.

I'm so sorry about your Kitty. I wish my Kitty would've lived 22 years. I only got 14 with him. Still doesn't make it easier for you and you will mourn for a while. Take care.

the stages of a cats life.....
                      they are a scampering kitten....
then they are a young cat running and jumping.....
then one day you notice they dont move as fast as they used to....
then one day they are gone....

sometimes when its quiet, you can still feel them brush against your leg...

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm a cat lover and can fully sympathize. 22 years is a very long life for a kitty and I'm sure you gave him a lot of love, comfort and attention during that time. Relish the memories.

Again, I'm sorry. I don't know how I missed this post until today!

Thanks for that.. so true and brought a tear to my eye.

Yesterday was the one week anniversary. Im so happy that hes not suffering but Im so sad hes not here to sleep next to me every night. Having him since I was 7 years old didnt help much. Its like every year of my life except for 7 years, he was around! Ive been around him more than not.

Anyways I am doing better. My roommate still cries, I took a few days out last week to get my eye exercises out of the way. I never though it'd be this hard to let go.....

sorry for your loss. I too lost two cats in less than 90 days. One was 16 years old and had cancer, the other was 17 years old and died from old age and grief for his brother. I still cry when thinking about them. We went through hurricane's together, including hurricane Katrina.

its truly sad about your loss, as most people just dont understand how attached you can get to a pet.... i have a bunch of cats that ive adopted from the dump.... they are my pets and i love them all...

however the nick is my son, i even built him a goldfish pond in the yard, so he wouldnt stray...i can deal with a lot of things, but the thought of living alone without him, takes my breath away..
