I am so sorry to hear about your furbaby. I'm a lifelong animal lover but the older I get the more attached I become to cats in general. Please know that I'm thinking of you and Nicky. The odds are against him, I know, but miracles do happen....

      Please keep us updated.

My cat is 22 years old this year, every year we think he's "close" but he keeps on plugging away. Ive had him since I was in the 2nd grade [/QUOTE]

my baby lived to be 22, it was hard to let him go. i didnt bother to take him to the doctors, i just let him die at home in my arms where he belonged. he was the King and no other cat I ever have will ever be King again. so we all know how youre feeling, the heavy sadness that comes with losing a best friend.

All of us have our "fur babies" that are so dear and close to our hearts. THEY ARE FAMILY...... and are missed greatly when they leave us.....
22 years is a good long, loved life for your baby....... I had one live to be almost 25 and another 17 years... Vet said they were living on "love".......

No one will ever take their special place, but another fur baby (in time) just might steal a portion of your heart again.

Not now, but later on take a "trip down memory lane" and think of your fur baby and all the things/time you shared. Photos to look at and remember why you took it..... his toys put away in a memory box... etc.......

Years dowe the road you will look back/remember/and smile when you think of them.

There have been many dogs/cats/fish in my lifetime that have shared my home with me. Many strays that "visited" till we found them a home.....
Animals have always been "special" to me and each has touched my heart in its own special way.....

Appreciate the time you share with them, their lives are much shorter than ours, so they are here and gone sometimes too quickly......

Anyone thats been "loved by a fur baby"...... KNOWS what they have lost.....a family member, a friend, a companion, and a peice of their heart!!!

Still miss my babies that have gone on before me......... and cherish the ones I still have........

"There are two means of refuge from the misery of life - music and cats." - Albert Schweitzer

Having lost two of our beloved cats at the ages of 18 and 17 in the last 10 years, your own loss of your sweet kitty seems all the sadder because of the strong memories we have of Tigger and Spoons. However, after healing we now have Mr. Moo - a great orange striped kitty who adopted us on a stormy, cold night when he came meowing at our door and came right in when we opened the door. Abandoned and starving, he was our gift when the time was right for another lovely cat in our lives.

Nicky has been very lucky to be with a family who loved him so much! We'll be sending positive thoughts your way during the difficult days to come. Come share whenever you need to - we'll be here and listening.

When one of may cats was very sick and not eating, our vet had us give him Gatorade to help keep him hydrated. You can get a syringe like you would use to feed kitten formula to a kitten--if nesessary. I used a teaspoon if you can believe it!

I hope and pray Nicky is on the mend

Sounds like either he's a fighter in not wanting to leave you, or not wanting to leave you at this time of your life when so much stress has entered it.

I'll add my prayers for him...

                        Best wishes...

Oh, I'm so glad to hear this! Were you able to take him to a vet??

Keep Nicky hydrated above all. Try getting an eyedropper and squeezing dropperfuls of water deep into the SIDE of his mouth. My kitty got very sick once and the vet recommended this method, since hydration really is the most important thing, for furry creatures as well as for humans.
