People HAVE to go to work, but they don't have to go anywhere else.....
Me, I spend a lot of time at home these days..... one trip to town twice a month (groceries, etc).........
Really cuts back on the gas usage......
Yeah, its going to get worse, and in fact, it may never be normal again..... Once they get it up there, they try to keep it up there.....
Cars are a "dime a dozen" BUT the price keeps going up!!!!! Every year!!!Minny

It realy hurts people like my family we live on less than 10000 per year and we have to go to the doctors office 3 time a week for 2 of our kids that are disabled. we drive 50 miles one way to the specialist. We have 5 kids all together so we have a big vehicle to fit everyone and gas mileage sucks on the suv's. God help us.Sometimes life make you deal with ugly and hateful people ,just think of them as sand paper. They may scratch you and rub you the wrong way but eventually you end up smooth and polished and the sand paper becomes old and worn out.

I was in Maine this past weekend...and the price of regular unleaded ranged anywhere from $3.10 to 3.29 per gallon. Truly unbelievable to see these prices in Maine especially when you consider that the median income throughout Maine is quite low. I really don't know how the local folks are surviving with gas prices like this. And they are saying that prices are supposed keep rising!!The information provided is not, and should not be considered legal advice. Yeah, I live in whats considered a poverty area of KY.......rural area, mountainous.
Some folks here are spending$300-$400 a month just for gas. Average commute to work is 30-40 miles for some. Some drive 60 miles one-way just for a decent job.
My roommate is screaming "bloody murder"...... $50.00 everytime he fills up and he keeps the road "hot"..... Now he has to run back and forth to Ohio twice a month for court hearings on child custody..... talk about "buying the gas"..........WHOAAAAAAA!!!!
Told him NOT TO BUY a V-8 - but SUCKER wouldn't listen.........
I'm so lucky that I live a mile from work......drive 2 miles a day........HOW LUCKY IS THAT!!!! Soooooo, I put on very little mileage each week. If I go to town I might average 25-30 miles a week...... THANK GOD FOR 4-CYLINDERS............(and they DO climb the hills too)....
Talk of gas being $4.19 here by the end of the week and the Thanksgiving weekend.....
Guess I'll stay home - HUH............ call the family in Ohio...... it's a lot cheaper..... in fact with my new calling plan - IT'S FREE........ I can talk all day to them if I want too.....
Man, I hate to see where this "gas thing" is going.................... and bad part is it will all trickle down to grocery stores, delivery trucks, and home heating oil for the winter.....
BAD SITUATION................. FOR MANY..............Minny

I was LMAO, cuz if you can afford all that nonsense you can afford the gas, and if you cant then quit a few for crying out loud. My kids quit the nonsense when things got tough. I will let my elder daughter restart the music lessons in the spring. She adores violin and clarinet. I found a guy who will come to the home! Whoo hoo! These activities will remain useful and fun in her adult years as well where I doubt at 40 she will want to do double back handsprings off a vault! At least I hope she wont....

Our heating oil bill last week to fill up the tank was $675. Its never been above $470. Sticker shock. We turned down the heat to 60 F and are limiting hot showers. I will put plastic on the drafty windows and use the wood burning stove. Feeling very rugged..lol.

It cost me $500 to fill my house's oil tank this month! Truly unbelievable. Definately going to have to use heat conservatively through out the winter, and bundle up on the blankets, sockets, etc.The information provided is not, and should not be considered legal advice. I have a roommate who I'm going to "beat his brains out" if he don't learn to close a door, turn off a tv and light, and put some clothes on!!!!
He complains all the time how cold he is, but wants to run around in a pair for shorts and barefooted in the winter. Says it feels great with a roaring fire in the fireplace, etc.....
When I slap him with half of the heating bills, he'll CROAK.........
It will be "put up - or put clothese on"!!!!
Some people "just don't get it" - when they don't pay the bills!!!!

I merged the threads so now they're all together.
Our gas prices were going down. Bit by bit. We'd gotten down into the $2.60-$2.70/gallon range.
Now prices have jumped up to the $3.10-$3.25/gallon range.
We have 3-4 gas stations right in a row near where we live. Admiral, Speedway, Marathon, and something else.
One day last week, every station but Admiral increased their prices just before lunch. Admiral did not til in the evening some time. There were lines at the Admiral all afternoon. People scambling to fill up or top off before the price jumped there too.Filed Ch 7 - 09/06
