Congratulations, Danaf! I'm an animal lover myself. I grew up with dogs and cats, and always had at least two dogs until I purchased my condo. Condos are not ideal places for dogs and my schedule is quite irregular, so now I only have a cat who is a spoiled and loving little beast who owns me.
Post a pic of your newest baby if you can!BK 7 filed and discharged in 2004 after 30+ years of perfect credit. Life HAPPENS.

Thank Goodness its people like you and me that gives these "babies" homes..... I feed my two "girls" (dog pound rescuses) + "Tilly" (our neighborhood beagle stray of 12 years - no permanent home) + a Mommy Cat and her 3 babies (all wild) that live in the drainline in front of my house. I throw apples accross the fence for the 6 deer that live in the field behind my home, and unfortunately I do run off the coyotees that still come around each year...... but I've also been known to catch a mouse and tell him to live "under the house", not upstairs....
If I lived on a farm, it would be "unreal" the animals I would have and feed each day.
Each of God's creatures serve a "purpose" in life. From the cattle in the field, the bird's in the trees, to the "little skunk" that wants to have her young in the old shed in the middle of the field out back.
I had company one weekend from Ohio...... we looked out the patio door and my "girls" were having guest too for the evening..... a baby possumm was having supper with them (wedged right between them and chowing down). My "girls" were very hospitable and shared!!! They had no intent of hurting the little fella...... just sharing their food with him.
Yes, I'm a little extreme when it comes to "my girls"...... they live the life that many "kids" dream of.... They have "feather toddler beds" to sleep on inside on a cold nite, blankies all their own, feather pillows in their daytime doghouses, and lots of toys they share with all that visit. They are given sooooo much love and attention, they aren't even aware they are animals.
Society will not let single people like me adopt children..... we don't have the "money resources" that society demands. So a child is set aside and people like me bestow our love and affection on our animals.
I firmly believe there is a "special place" in Heaven, for folks that take care of God's creatures and appreciate the beauty of them all.
Each creature is unique and special in their own way.... each has a given purpose. From the little rat, to the big dog, to the horses that we ride.
God's creatures are all beautiful, and they rely on us to take care of them (tho many are very self-sufficent)
Every child should learn safety around animals, and the love and affection of having a pet around. It makes them a more stable, and well rounded person in life.
I firmly believe that a man that will kick/beat his dog, will kick/beat his wife and kids...... If they have no compassion for an animal, normally they have no compassion for another human being.
And as Bob Barker would say.... "have your pet neutered or spade" to help control the population of homeless animals!!
Not all of us "love animals".......................Minny

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

OH BOY Dana! More love in the family--I'm sure you're really excited. I am excited for both you and the pup, who will now surely get the attention she craves. What's her name?
Earlier this morning, I tried to feed a lost dog that I saw in the parking lot of a grocery store. It was searching frantically for food and was dirty and was just the cutest little dog. I was already done with my shopping and saw it on my way out and went back into the store for a can of dog food. When I came out it was gone but I drove around the block and found it.
However, when I got out of the car and tried to feed it, it was so scared it ran out into traffic. That scared the bejezus out of me but fortunately it wasn't hit and made it's way back to the sidewalk but it was running away. I drove around the block a couple more times but couldn't find it. I felt so bad and still do. I am sure that dog belonged to someone even though it had no tag or collar.
But I am so happy for you. I just know you are going to give that dog the best life it could possibly have.

We kept him, fattened him up over the winter, kept him outside for a bit in the spring and then placed him in the forest late spring so he could readjust way ahead of time for the fall cooler weather and hibernation. He turned around and looked at us when he walked away as if to say "thank you"

I myself adopted a dog that was in dire need of a loving home, so I know your joy danaf. We got very lucky and adopted a 2-year Golden Retriever who was left behind in an aparment to die. Thankfully, the landlord got a call from the tenants downstairs about the barking dog and he wasn't left alone for too long (about 2 days).
He's an awesome dog. When I first brought him home, during my 2 week break during Christmas season 2006, he followed me around the house into every room and was at my feet, therefore the name Shadow suited him well. The Humane Society named him Barney, which I didn't like.
Oh, BTW, he was a Christmas present for my wife and kids. They were out shopping for the day and when they came home, there he was. My wife was immediately in love with him and my kids adore him.
He's a good dog.
Congrats danaf. May you have many years of hapiness and joy with the newest addition to your family.Last edited by BassBoy; 11-12-2008, 09:18 AM.Bankruptcy History:

Lots of activity in the yard that day. The next morning my hubby went outside several times to check on things and finalize things and came back in holding a male eastern box turtle which he found sitting close to the grave on our lawn (our house is surrounded by woods). We live very near a large protected national forest and i was going to take him there (was off work that day) and release him as i have with other turtles i have found on the road or in bad spots in our area (construction zones). However, when he handed me the turtle, the turtle was like holding a sheet of paper - no weight, very thin. There was no way he could be released, hibernate and survive. He would die. We believe he saw all the activity in the back lawn and thought it might be a food source so he came lumbering up. He could have been stuck somewhere and eventually got loose, was a pet that got loose or released and not taken care of/fed well or just could not find much to eat. We kept him, fattened him up over the winter, kept him outside for a bit in the spring and then placed him in the forest late spring so he could readjust way ahead of time for the fall cooler weather and hibernation.
