The bad thing about this guy.. I have listened to other speeches and they seemed batty as hell. So, it was hard to tell if he is only credible when his head is on straight.
yes, I copied his name off google.
While there is plenty of oil, the USA has totally screwed itself by not becoming self sustaining on those kinds of resources and now they run around the table like dumb chickens with feathers flying all over leaving chicken poop on everything for the next generation to clean up...bawk bawk bawk. That is one area you can look back & see one of Clintons big failures by not drilling or at least looking for alternative fuels.
That guy in Iran is just as kooky as Bush. I am not sure which one is worse.

LOL! Well, I would say I was wrong, but this time I know I am not. So better to take it out on my fingers and the keyboard than pounding my head against the desk.
I am sure I am not done either.

The children of the boomers (believe me, I know - I am a boomer at the younger end, born in 1952 - that is for those that believe the boomer generation runs from 1946 to 1957) have this attitude that they are "owed" everything and do not have to earn it or work for it. They were brought up constantly praised even if they screwed up (I remember an 8 year old back in the early 90s tossing a bowling ball on purpose on another kids foot at a weekly kids' group bowling session but whined to his mom that he was trying to throw it down the alley - mom just said "Good Job! What an effort!" All the other moms stood there with their mouths hanging open at how she handled it). Boomer children and their attitudes are the result of lenient boomer parents who wanted their kids to have it easier than they had it...the result? Boomer kids don't leave the house; if they do they move back eventually; high rate of divorce if they marry and most lack good parental skills and call the boomer parents for advice on a daily basis. If you are not a boomer, don't reply to the last sentence because only a boomer parent would know what I am talking about!_________________________________________

I remember this silly mom at the ice cream store, she went up & down in serious mode, through every single 33 flavors & buckets of ice cream and named them all off for her 3 year sold to choose from!!! (while we stand there waiting for her kid to choose LOL!) The kid had no clue what all those flavors were she was rattling off and pointing to, while in her mind the kid understood her and was going to choose his own flavor as if he knew what they were. It was so sadly and gross in error for a parenting skill.
the bowling story reminds me of Nellie Olsen and her mother from Little House on the Prairie...spoiled little brats in america. Thankfully we still have some Mister Olsens to get things back on track when perfect little Nellie & mommy could do no wrong...roll her into the mud!! and daddy could laugh.

I also couldn't get my head around some of the children when out and about either! Discipline, ethics and morals are not being taught as they were in previous generations.
The *how does it make you feel* mentality as the therapists in movies ask attitude does not make for productive adults and I think is a disservice to children.
Then I saw this: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/...n3475200.shtmlFiled C7 Aug 31 2008

OMG! That article is so true. It has me laughing today. Talk about a huge waste of humanage.
"You do have to speak to them a little bit like a therapist on television might speak to a patient," Salzman says, laughing. "You can't be harsh. You cannot tell them you're disappointed in them. You can't really ask them to live and breathe the company. Because they're living and breathing themselves and that keeps them very busy."
Faced with new employees who want to roll into work with their iPods and flip flops around noon, but still be CEO by Friday, companies are realizing that the era of the buttoned down exec happy to have a job is as dead as the three-Martini lunch.
"These young people will tell you what time their yoga class is and the day's work will be organized around the fact that they have this commitment. So you actually envy them. How wonderful it is to be young and have your priorities so clear. Flipside of it is how awful it is to be managing the extension, sort of, of the teenage babysitting pool," Salzman tells Safer.
They act just like little teenagers with ipods & flipflops, and the real sad part is they will be throwing those at 55 out of their jobs & benefits, so they can suck up the work those of age did all these years. They have no clue what it is to actually work because they can take take take, from what has already been built and build nothing themselves.
Living & breathing themselves (is a problem) and sums it up nicely.

HR courses to deal with this? I think we are into negative effort and it won't produce a thing.
Personally, I see the workers that still retain a good work ethic and actually enjoy their jobs prosper. I have seen many Mememe's come and go between companies in the last 10 years and they don't get anywhere.Filed C7 Aug 31 2008

Generation X is less tolerant of Corporate America because we learned that corporate America will not be there for the employee and corporate America is not dedicated to retirement and longterm welfare of employees( learned by either watching our parents or through personal experience.
Additionally,
Divorce rates are DOWN not UP for X'ers than they were for Boomers. Two reasons given are are Gen X does not want to go through what their parents did and more people are choosing to live together rather than marriage.
Boomer children calling and asking their parents their OPINON, be thankful they value your input. It's also a sign of intelligence to seek help from someone that has been there. However, we could "Just" have sitters raise our children or grandparents raise them as several Boomers did?
Worried about kids moving back in? It's nice to know Generation X and the Milleniums are the first generation to have a standard of living below their parents.
The industrial revolution is no longer available to the Generations below the Boomers where they pay 27.00/hr for building automobiles or 30.hr to take coal out of the ground both which require no additional education other than high school or on the job training.
"Gen Xers also are the first generation to graduate from college with significant student loan debt. About 20% of adults in their 30s are still paying college loans, according to the Federal Reserve study; the median balance exceeds $13,000. Yet, even as Gen Xers continue to grapple with college debt, experts tell them they need to be putting aside money for retirement, as well as for college savings for their children.
GEN X: "This generation is in the ironic position of paying for their own student loans and feeling the pressure to put away for their own kids for college," says Tamara Draut, a Gen Xer herself, a new mom and author of Strapped: Why America's 20- and 30-Somethings Can't Get Ahead. "
Boomers are also choosing to stay in the workforce longer rather than retire.. This leaves little opportunity in the workforce for a younger generation to move forward. This also does not give them a chance to earn more money. So, now they find themselves in bankruptcy in lansing like me.
I fully agree with everything about being taught a win-win situation. When I was teaching soccer for the AYSO. Parents loved it when I told the kids they were losing( I wasn't supposed to) However, these young kids knew they were losing even though we didn't officially keep score.

Thanks! I really hadn't heard of this, and I had to laugh because I often use the word jonsen'
And my lost (no gen name) parents also turned out to have a name: (Wikipedia)
1925-1945
* The Silent Generation was the generation born between the two World Wars, who were too young to join the service when World War II started. Many had fathers who served in World War I.

You simply cannot handle the truth of a country that is falling to pieces..so stay in denial...nothing is being fixed..they are getting deeper and deeper into problems!
