It's been a long time coming, really -- she's been in a nursing home since shortly after my dad died in 2000. We were surprised she lived this long, after 2-3 strokes. Honestly because she was in a vegetative-like state for such a long time, I considered her lost long ago. She was 87.
She adopted me and raised me, the youngest of 5 children, one other adopted sister. I can't say we had the greatest relationship, but I will always appreciate all she did for me.. the opportunities provided throught the years.
I'll be going to TN this week to say goodbye. It'll be good to see the family, I never talk to them much because of the distance and busy lives.
It sounds horrible to even talk about this now, but regarding our financial situation, I have no idea what this means and where we go from here. I had thought about this happening but didn't expect it. I have no idea about the estate. I emailed my attorney and asked what to do since we were planning to file at the end of the month.
