I hope no one misunderstood my prose on what I have seen. Being in Florida, I have seen the least, as well as the worst.

I pray for everyone in the past. I truly feel for those who rebuilt and may have to again. I know now insurance will be nil after all this stuff happens. Reminds me, “by the grace of God go I”. ‘Hub and Mrs.

Thank you for your kind words. I'd doing my best to keep my chin up and try not to worry, but so far it's not working. I can't tear myself from the TV. I thought Katrina was hard, but seeing the people I love most go through this again is killing me.

You know, it will all be blamed on Bush. Perhaps Global Warming. Anyway, for years and decades actually N.O. is under the tide of the Gulf of Mexico. I hope to hell, that those who cried “Govment needs to git me” do not appear again. Houston was really burnt when all those came to the invite of Texas. I sure do appreciate the one person who commandeered a school bus and took many people out of the area. Now Nagin is becoming ‘responsible’ a bit too late in my opinion, but he I guess is better than nothing. I love N.O. and wife and I spent some company time there for some months and loved it all. Those who leave, I respect. Those who stay I shall assume, either are there there for not good reason, or just too damn stupid to get out of the rain. Sorry but I served with my company in Hugo and Andrew along with Mrs. and this is not a rainstorm. This is death if you stay. Andrew was amazing as we saw flat concrete where a house stood. Mrs. and I have an archival vault. As we collect History of our area. It has a kit in it for this kind of thing. We have an above average of safety. If not, I would be outa here if this thing came here.

Katrina is actually the turning point (along with bk reform) for my negative feelings towards Bush. When these people blamed him for a natural disaster as well as their own refusal to leave town and he said he "takes full responsibility" for it all I knew right then and there that he is not fit to lead the country. He didn't cause a storm and most of the responsibility should fall on the Mayor and Governor and those refusing to leave.

My grandparents, Aunt and Uncle are in Mississippi. Thankfully my Uncle's house withstood Katrina, but they're worried this second time around. My grandparents house flooded in Louisiana (they were living in Slidell), and had to move.

My grandma is a nurse and is staying behind again (she told the younger nurses to get out while they can) and I am terrified for her and my grandpa.

If you guys could keep them as well as everyone in that region in your prayers tonight, I would be so grateful.

Consider many prayers coming up from one nurse in intercession for another.

I had family in Slidell last time around. One pretty much completely lost her home, the other took a lot of work to fix up. They have moved on now, but I know they are in prayer also.

re: my saying me living in MN hardly seems fair -- i mean that i don't have to live through the gulf weather and have no frame of reference that remotely compares, i can only watch what i see on other peoples' tvs and listen on the radio with horror. it just doesn't seem fair that parts of the country are ravaged like this while others (like minnesota) just idle the late summer away, attending state fairs and whatnot.

maybe what i said was out of place, but at least i hope i've explained it.

soleprop, don't feel bad. You get to have BLIZZARDS, and ICE storms, SNOW, which isn't pretty after three days. Plus achingly cold WINTERS!!!

I'll take my warm weather including the hurricanes. Thanks for your prayers, though.
