I now think McCain's campaign now has some 'wow' power. I just watched her nomination and her acceptance speech and so far am very impressed.

I just knew it, lol. I was thinking more on the lines of the ebay CEO, but this woman is great.
She is an outsider, is not a member of the almighty senate, knows more about gas and oil than any one on earth, has outted her own corrupt party, has executive experience as governor albeit not a long time and sounds like she has gumption. Lordy, I don't want McCain to die in office, but he is not a two term pres. He is too old.
She is pro life and I am pro choice, but she has to uphold the law, so not a problem. Everyone has their right to their own opinion.
As far as lobbyists, they are the poison of our democracy.
Should be a helluva election.
Since BKparalegal hasn't chimed in yet, lol, once again it is "lose" not "loose".

I know there will be exceptions, but unfortunatly those are few and far between. I always excercise my right to vote and encourage my children to be involved with discussions about it all. We have all as a family watched many debates and the DC. It is quite amazing the simplistic sense these kids make.
I think the number one thing that could be done to clean up politics is to remove the lobbiests and thier $$. Ya think that will EVER happen? Not a chance as far as Washington will ever be concerned. Until then I can hardly trust anything a politician says without wondering who greesed (sp?) his or her hand. The speeches are dynamic, the canidates polished, and the visual appeal lacks for nothing, yet I still walk away with no substance from any of them.
Me for President!!! Whoo Hooo!
You have my vote!
I so concur.

I am not thrilled with McCain's choice for a number of reasons. Not the least of which is that he hardly even knows her and only picked her because she is a woman with all the presumed qualifications that he thinks will sell. I don't think he really knows. Time will tell.
We are going to get screwed no matter who we vote for...again.

She is a member of Feminist for life. Check out their website and I don't think you'll be as alarmed by her pro-life stance. It is a group that wants to eliminate abortion by eliminating the reasons when are forced to choose abortion - lack of resources and support. I'm sorry, but pro-life or pro-choice I think everyone can get behind giving pregnant and parenting families more options. http://www.feministsforlife.org/ Since studies by planned parenthood has shown that 1/2 of all abortions are done on college age women they work on college campus' to try and give women access to the support and resources that they need. Often times it's just a matter of coordinating existing resources so that they are easier to find and use.
I'm a member. I think it is a great group that takes a possitive approch to abortion and acknowledges the difficult and painful issues that drive women to choose abortion.Last edited by JollyGG; 08-30-2008, 05:49 AM.Filed: 10/26/2006
