Reminds me of the time I was out with a bunch of friends and one of the guys brought up Lolita. I was very impressed thinking this guy had read Vladimir Nabakov. Turns out he was discussing some porn movie!!!

Just read the article. This doesn't surprise me and I'm sure that other credit cards do the same. Direct mail marketing companies do the same thing. Whenever you make a purchase from a catalog if that company is a part of what's called a co-op database your information is potentially getting shared with thousands of other comanies. The big difference of course is that with direct mail you are just getting more advertising. With the CC they are penalizing you which is false advertising IMO.

By the way, I can understand about why massage parlors, spas, bars, and billiards would look bad but I don't get the tire/retread company.

I would have assumed the book or the movie.
