I hated McAfee. It acted like a virus on my system, really messed things up.
Norton used to be good, now it's all bloated and not good.
I switched to AVG 2 years ago and have loved it. I use the pay version with Firewall and the whole 9 yards. I download a lot of stuff so it's necessary to be extra protective.
So yeah, I recommend AVG.
Not sure what the difference is between the free version and the pay version but the pay version is not that much and it gives you complete protection.
I went on one of those sites where they test the security of your computer and I got a 100% safe rating with my AVG firewall plus virus protection.
