Funded by out of state Democrats of course, who hope to unseat Gordon and add another Democrat to the Senate majority. Now I actually may go along with this, only because we need a veto proof Senate in case McWar gets elected. Yeah, running a frozen foods business in eastern Oregon is only a front for the Gordon Smith power grab to take over the rivers and waterfalls of Oregon.

But hey, I'm just your average Joe who attends 4th of July parades and buys illegal fireworks. And last year Gordon Smith shows up riding in a convertible in our little city of 150,000 in the Fourth of July parade. Why he even waved and smiled at me and his kids threw me some candy as he passed by. Now how can I vote against a politician that throws me free candy? Answer me THAT!

I did not have to dig anything up. I have been fully aware of what happened with him & cheney & followed the whole thing as it happened.

I dont know why keep voting for these people who come to the parade, (maybe because there is no one else) but if you want to shoot off some fireworks, just give a ring as I have plenty to blow off this 4th, and that is something that I really do enjoy from a science an artistic perspective & of course love the light & bangs for a country that I still have hope for.

Yeah, I understand that. Everywhere I go in my neck of the woods I hear from far right individuals that we can't vote for Obama because "we don't want one of those evil Muslims running the country." It's not Obama that thinks being Muslim is bad, it's those far right individuals who are spreading the lies that think that. He's just correcting them by telling them that he is Christian and not Muslim. For the record, I don't think it matters what religion the president is and I would vote for a Muslim if I liked where he stood on the issues that are important to me.

I have nothing against a Muslim being President, indeed I might even vote for one if the occasion permitted. I'd have to look at the person though and not just their religion.

Muslims in general are fiscally conservative, socially conservative, and defensively conservative. (Look at almost every Muslim led nation, they generally have a good deal of money in reserves, they generally maintain larger armies than average, and are ultra conservatives with even moderate Muslims are more conservative than many Christians).

I think more than anything our nation needs fiscally conservative leaders before we destroy ourselves, whether those leaders are Mormon, Muslim, Jewish etc doesn't concern me as much as being fiscally responsible.

There are many Christians who sadly do not live their faith. Obama and his wife are both very close to what was taught in Jeremiah Wright's church, sadly it is a mix of Christian beliefs and Marxism. It is just as racist as the KKK or Neo Nazi's and in my opinion as you say distinctly not Christian based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. However it is not for me to judge whether they are Christians or not, that is Jesus job for he can see into the hearts of men where we cannot.

I do agree though that he's a professional politician and would do everything he thought necessary in order to be elected.

this whole thing kind of reminds me of these kids today who just get out of college & demand pay for being in school four years, get promoted into allstate insurance as they cut millions of peoples insurance, then claim they are doing a great job by helping america & allstate...then they get fired after a couple of years for stealing & lying.

I agree 100%. It's not in my place to judge. He's been a member of a Christian Church for 20 years (whether or not we agree with some of the teachings of his pastor, it is a Christian church) so I believe he is a Christian.
