Okay, this morning I put some water in a teapot, placed it on the burner, turned the knob to ignite the pilot and got nothing but a hissing noise. I went out to check the meter on the propane tank and sure enough it's on E, so I called to have some propane delivered. The lady asked how much was left in the tank and I told her it's empty. That's when I found out that it would cost an extra $50 because the delivery guy will need to re-pressurize the lines and check for any leaks throughout the house. This is the first time I've ever ran completely out of propane! Now I know not to do that again!! Luckily for us we've budgeted $50 for "entertainment" this month.

Oh man, does that mean you and the spouse will get to sit around looking at the propane tank with bowls of popcorn in your laps? Eh, hateful. I'm sorry that happened to you -- but very glad you had the money to cover it... even if all you get to do this month is the equivalent of watching paint dry.Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!

See, this is what I am talking about. So he can charge for the product, for the delivery time, and then for any additional service. When I got fired, I told them they were getting a great deal for 12 dollars and hour, but they think that they can get more than a "Basic Service."
Sorry about the propane tank TxBluebelle. What do you use propane for, and (this may sound silly,) but would you use a solar stove? They are easy to make, and you can cook anyhing. It seems to me that in Texas or the southwest, you shouldn't need to use fossil fuels for either water heating or cooking. Not all those who wander are lost....

Solar stove (oven) is made with an insulated box, tin foil and a piece of glass. You cook in it and it uses not fuel and costs no money.
It sounds silly, but it saves a lot of money in the end.Not all those who wander are lost....

One Half Full: Sounds interesting. I may take a look into making something like that for fun.
PaKettle: Yep, stuff happens, and luckily we were able to cover it. My main reason for posting this was to make others aware to not run their propane tanks dry.04/04/08- Notice of deficiency balance due from a repo. 04/18/08- Fico scores w/repo listed: EXP 624, TRAN 610, EQU 610. 04/19/08- Found this forum. 04/24/08- Retained attorney for a chapter 7, filing singly. 5/5/08- Turned in bk paperwork to atty. 5/27/08- Date set for reviewing paperwork.
