    And just when I thought..

..things were getting better, I get slammed with unexpected problems! ::sigh:: I just sold some wheels/tires and was hoping to put money to good use (pay some bills off) when suddenly, my PC decided to reward me with bad motherboard. Well luckily I still have warranty on it, but it will be out for 2-3 weeks. Apparently Best Buy does not give loaners out LOL. So with that money I had to purchase another PC. I must say, it felt good paying cash for something that large (350). Good news is, once my PC is back, I can return this one for full refund.

And..on the way back from 341 today, my transmission in my car breaks. Now, repair is about 1500 Will have to wait week or two in order to save up some money.

Just when I thought things were picking up for better..

    Boy I tell ya...

    Just venting

After my BK I became a cash and carry policy. I have no credit cards (I actually had one survive the Bankruptcy but I called and cancelled it.)

First thing I did was to start saving money with a goal of having 1000 in the bank.

First the brakes went out of the car. It was nice paying cash for it. Taking it to the shop and letting the guys fix it and not worrying about what it cost. (only had 400 then).

Then after saving a bit again the fuel lines broke. Had enough to cover that.

Then a few more months come by and I finally pass the thousand dollar saving mark. Then comes the super high K-1 bill for my heating oil. (Almost 50% higher than last year). Was able to pay it. Was nice to walk in the week after delivery and write a check and know it was good and clean .

So that's what I suggest , making an emergency reserve of cash as you can . My eventual goal is to have 3-6 months of living expenses but I won't reach that goal until after I finish the long neglected repairs on my trailer.

So I know how it is fellas

Yeah, we can't wait to try and save. Right now after just quiting cards and not even filed yet, there's no money to even attempt to save. Kind of scares me. That's why if we could keep our stimulus check and do all repairs and things needing done it would make it possible to try and save a little down the road.

DH truck windows won't go down, needs a switch, his tires need replaced before next winter, otherwise he will have to sit, Indiana winters, bad tires, not a good combo. My car, well, the amount of money we need for all the repairs comes to almost $1000. And our water heater is needing replaced, pretty much covers the whole check. If we don't get to keep it, then these things just will have to wait.

I didn't get started saving until after I filed. The key is to write a budget and include in the budget money for the emergency fund , at least that's been key for me.
