    Adobe Acrobat Question

I'm in the process of filling out my ch 7 forms. My state has fillable forms in adobe which is great. But the font is too large & I cannot figure out how to make the font smaller so I can fit everything in.

Anyone know how to do that? Btw, I have adobe writer - so this should be possible.

    thanks

Danaf, if you are using Adobe Acrobat Professional you should be able to right click on the properties of any given field and reset the font characteristics, unless for whatever reason that is locked by the document author. If you check the security properties of the doc you should be able to see upfront if anything's locked or not.

I used the forms at uscourts.gov and Adobe Acrobat Professional 5.0 to do all mine and never had a problem -- but then again, they weren't fillable forms: I just did text boxes for *everything*. My, what a pain in the a** that was! But it sure did look purty when I was done with it.

P.S. I forgot to mention this, but I was pretty much limited to 8pt fonts on all but a few pages, where I could go 10pt. This wasn't a problem for me on a laser printer, but you could have readability issues on an older inkjet. If so, take it down to Kinko's or something and print it there, because I don't think you'll be able to fit in any larger font. I couldn't, at least. Good luck!!!

I figured it out for anyone else who may be interested.

Tools - Forms - Text Field Tool - Right Click on the field - Properties - and there you can change the font size.

But I'm still not sure with changing the font size I can fit it all in.

FLD - when you say you used text boxes - how exactly did you do that? What program did you use?

Danaf, I used Adobe Acrobat Professional 5.0 and the enclosed text tool to simply create a text box wherever I wanted one. I probably would have deleted any existing fields that got in my way but there were none anyhow, which is why I went to text boxes to begin with.

BTW, a text box floats over any existing text, and if you make the border invisible it looks like you just typed it there. You can also resize and move your text boxes as needed, and if I remember correctly you can even do centered, justified, etc text alignment. They're pretty nifty. When I did my schedules, I did one huge text box for each column, and one for the total at the bottom: worked GREAT. Everything aligned perfectly. If you turn on gridlines you can line them up exactly.

If you've never used text boxes or created form fields, it's easy to learn: use the online help files and make a copy of some form to practice on. You'll get the hang of it very quickly.

        Good luck!!!
