I agree however my Aisian friends don't. I work with a bunch of people who are from china originally. Almost all of them tell me that in China they have the streanght but they don't have national identity and pride to make a good superpower. Basically the govenment doesn't have the heart of the people and are handicapped by that fact.

One of them was telling me the other day that he didn't understand why everyone is talking about wanting change and why Americans complain about our country so much. He told me he thinks America is wonderful. He thinks anyone who complains should live in China for five years in order to appreciate everything we have.

Working in the field I do I have alot of international coworkers. India is technelogically advanced but has some serious social issues that they would have to resolve before they could become a super power.

I'd have to deal in sign language, cause I don't speak foreign lingo!

And with my comment "only God knows"....... well, with so many different religions and beliefs, HOPEFULLY, we all believe in the same God or "Maker". We just go about it in a different way.

Me for President, doesn't sound bad at all!!!!

Who will vote for ME?? lol

I'll second you, but I will not give up my IFC channel nor my cell phone. I've managed to hang on to that darn 4Runner through bankruptcy & my IRS issues and I will not trade it in now to have a car payment & higher gas bill! I have cut my spending habits in half and I just really don't know where to cut from here?

We all have to get to work somehow, or else, maybe we all need to boycott driving to work as in..."what if they gave a war & no one came."

      Geez....???

You would get to retire with a nice paycheck for the remainder of your years and just sit up in the whitehouse looking nice ... I guess after elected, if you decide the job is not for you, you could just walk off...I mean have the limo driver & body guards drive you back to your real home, of course after your lobster dinner, facial, beauty parlor & massage...then just quit.

Only big liars are allowed to apply. Are you good at telling big juicy lies to get people to vote for you? I hear there are 20,000students in Rhode Island that will be voting soon.

We could make a movie out of this. They make movies out of everything else...the cookie that rolled off the table and grew gigantic eating people, rolling & squashing humans around the world- that is what the presidents do now days. Can you handle it?

        *chuckles* hee hee

Just one thing, please bring the gas prices down immediately so we can at least afford to drive to work.

What slogan? Vote for Minny or you don't get any!

          That is the song ROFL!!!!!!!!

Two Kings wanted to have a war but nobody came
          and nobody came
          and nobody came
          and nobody came

It would have been totally different if you were to put Bush & Sadam into the boxing ring together and tell them to kill each other instead of killing the people from their country. The Kings are the WMD.

I dream of a PERFECT/RICH country where all of its people/citizens don't have to work for a living, and all kings just ... sit & feed their citizens' mouths unconditionally (foodstamps maybe??)... (Oh no, I don't mean a "communist" state, where one-lump-sum of gold pots being collected & equally shared by everyone and anyone alike, that's never gonna happen in million years!!.. just want a compassionate Ks & Qs!).

... then all citizens will love da kings & queens to their deaths!!!

China was a superpower why can't they be again?

It is not going to be like that though. Everything is coming under one global power, not individual powers like we are used to seeing. So for that to happen, the power/wealth has to be distributed & the kings & loyal kings men will use the people as pawns to keep gaining their individual wealth through trade & then all the lies & drunkedness will crack the pot & WW3 is going to happen.

You will still have your country laws, city & state laws for a long time, but eventually it will all come under one global law.

I doubt I will see all of that, but my grandchildren will.

I knew the Monkees weren't all bad.

hey Lichtenstein and Monaco -- Both Monarchies, and both with "ideal" standards of living. Good pensions for all, free health care for all, decent paychecks, (no poverty though there is difference in pay there is no actual poverty) lots of vacations, good education, no war, low infant death and long healthy life.

United Arab Emerates is filled with royalty. The only true citazens are Arabian Royalty. They dont work at all. The workers are not citizens.

for anyone here who did not believe me concerning the fact in the other thread when I said the Reagan recession was the worse since the great depression you can find it yourself if you just take the time. Many called that time a depression instead of recession.

When, in August 1981, Reagan signed his Recovery Act into law at Rancho del Cielo, his Santa Barbara ranch, he promised to find additional cuts to balance the budget, which had a projected deficit of $80 billion -- the largest, to that date, in U.S. history. That fall, the economy took a turn for the worse. To fight inflation, running at a rate of 14 percent per year, the Federal Reserve Board had increased interest rates. Recession was the inevitable result. Blue-collar workers who had largely supported Reagan were hard hit, as many lost their jobs.

The United States was experiencing its worst recession since the Depression, with conditions frighteningly reminiscent of those 50 years earlier. By November 1982, unemployment reached, nine million, the highest rate since the Depression; 17,000 businesses failed, the second highest number since 1933; farmers lost their land; and many sick, elderly, and poor became homeless.

Fact for the third time, you will also find these facts in the Wikpedia or any history book & that time from 80 to 83 being the worse since the depression is not just my opinion!

and for those who have been severly hurt by recession, you alone know that it does not turn around like a magic trick just because someone says it never happened or the recession is over. It takes many years to recover & some areas like in Michigan, never do.

and one more thing...while I do not agree with Reaganomics though some of his policy did work. I do believe that Reagan still had a heart beat for America & not just his own selfish agenda- unlike Bush who has a heart beat for himself only & is still in denial about this recession.

At least Reagan admitted when the country was in trouble.

FYI, other economies are already passed us. The Canadian dollar is worth more than the American dollar, and the European economy, with the Euro, has actually surpassed us as the #1 economy.

You know things are scary for Americans when even in South America, workers now prefer to be paid in Euros rather than US Dollars!

...and when the barrel of oil is paid by euros instead of dollars...Congress wont be putting U.S. gold on ships...we will ALL be walking & taking the bus.
