Just kidding. As posts are written, they are automatically listed by date and time from the most recent to the least recent. When someone responds to your post, it has the effect of "re-aging" it and moving it back to the top of the page. When someone bumps a post, it means that they are replying to their own message in order to move it back to the top of the heap so that maybe someone will reply. In general, you will only see "bump" on a post to which no one has yet replied, because it's better netiquette to start a new thread for new question than keep bumping a post that has already received answers.
I hope this helps.
Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!
Also please give members 24 hours to respond before using "bump" on a question - be patient! Frankly our members hate seeing 'bump', especially if only a few hours have passed. If members have an answer, they will post it. We are not a shy bunch here! lol!
If no one responds again for 24 hours after one 'bump', it's because you've asked a question that no one here can answer.

24 hours? Wow, I always gave it three days, just out of long habit I guess. (I'm new to *this* board, but it's the same all over, really.) I never noticed people were bumping as early as the same day...
Then again, I remember how stressed and worried I was, so it's understandable wanting a quick reply. 24 hours at minimum sounds like a great guideline.

We've had members bumping after 2-3 hours! It's very hard to wait when you are as stressed as many of our new members are - lots of questions with no answers - it's tough. But our regular members do tend to be more impatient with new members who have a habit of bumping too quickly.
And btw, my "no bump for 24 hours" suggestion is just a reasonable guideline - it's not a forum rule.
