recommended web site for money tracking/ budgeting

Just wanted to recommend a site I began using a few months ago. It's free to sign up, you give them no account numbers or anything like that (you can be completely anonymous to them, you just have to give them an email address, but I am pretty sure they don't sell to spammers and they don't spam you)...

It's www.clearcheckbook.com and what it is, is a site that helps you balance your checkbook(s) and keep track of cash spent as well.

Since I began using this I have not had any of those "gee, I thought I had $150 but they're saying I only have $123" moments.

But what is even better is that you can assign categories to everything you spend, such as:
"food", "health", "gas", "utilities", "entertainment", etc..

So, then, you can go into REPORTS and see pie charts or bar graphs of what you've been spending on in terms of percentages and also see how much you spent each month on each category.

Also, you can set Reminders to remind you every month via email when your bills are due. You can set it to notify you 3 days in advance or 7 days in advance, whatever you want for each bill. And, though they don't say this, you can also use the same reminder service to remind you of birthdays, appointments or whatever....

It's really a great site, I think and so I just wanted to pass it along to those of you who might use such a thing. Check it out, it costs nothing to take a look. And no, I am not in any way affiliated with it, I just happen to think it's a great site.

Thanks for the heads-up! I've been looking for this type of program, and free is about what I wanted to pay!

Sunday's paper had a few websites listed too.
        This one looks interesting- www.wesabe.com
I'm not sure if it's the same as the one you found, but I like the community part of it.

That looks like a cool site, too. I am not clear, though, on if it allows you to enter things like cash accounts, keeping track of cash income and expenses as clearcheckbook.com does. The other thing is, as I understand it (I watched the 3 min. intro video and looked around but it still did not make this clear to me) this website, wesabe.com, requires that you actually give it your financial information, your bank account numbers etc. so that it can then keep track of your accounts all in one place. This does seem like a good idea and I might use it.

However, clearcheckbook.com is different in that you do NOT have to give it any factual information about you or your accounts, you can keep it completely anonymous and give the site no account numbers at all. And it allows you to set up a CASH account so for example, when you take out $100 from one bank account, you can then show a transfer of that $100 to your CASH account, and then as you write down the cash expenditures you can label them and categorize them so you can not only keep track of where each expenditure goes, but later you can look at the graphs and charts and see how much of your money is going for, say, movies, misc. or groceries or whatever... I'm not sure if wesabe does offer this ability to include a "cash" account.

Anyway, thanks for the wesabe recommendation, I may yet use it, I just have to understand more about it, first. I do like the idea of the community associated with it.
