Funny, I answered this yesterday and today hubby comes home with the new amounts for next year. Two plans are offered, one pays 80% for $457 for employee and spouse and the 70% plan costs $380 for employee and spouse. The family plans are $704 for the 80% plan and $594 for the 70% plan.

VENT (Please feel free to ignore) Sad thing is, we have the coverage on me and I never intend to use it, so it is a total waste of money. The only reason we have coverage for me is if I should have a heart attack or stroke and wake up in a hospital, we'll need the coverage until I can get the h*ll out of there. I would only go if I were unconscious and couldn't prevent being transported.

I don't do medical, I don't do doctors (unless he agrees with me) and I certainly don't do hospitals.

Ugh, I hate thinking about this, it stresses me out. Yes, I have post traumatic syndrome from the medical profession after what they did to my mom and I'll be d*mned if I let them do the same thing to me. Now, I gotta go find something else to do.

    VENT OVER
I used to have a life, now I have grandkids.

I love Dentists though! Thank God for the 21st Century. My Dad is 87, my Aunt late 80's and my Grandad was born in 1883, died in '75. They told me about all the Typhus outbreaks and diseases and epidemics they lived through. No thanks.

I agree with vent over pricing though. Insurance helped cause the high costs. What a boon Government intervention and Insurance Corporations are for any industry. On the other hand, lots of $$$ for research.

Meantime, people have always struggled for cash. I'll take the perk of a longer life and no epidemics sweeping the land every few years.

I pay $120 bi-monthly; $25 copay; $10 copay for annual physcials and preventative appointments( blood pressure checks, gyn visits, annual mammograms, etc) Insurance pays 90%.

I pay $32 bi-monthly for dental. 100% paid for cleanings; 80% paid for other procedures.

Prescriptions are $10; $25 and $45, depending on whether they are generic, formulary or non-formulary drugs. Fortunately, all of our scripts but 2 are on the walmart list so I get them for $4. For the other 2, I use the mail order option and only pay $20 each for a 90 day supply.

This coverage is just for DH and myself.

We are paying (that is, I am paying, since my wife does not work) around $160/month for health insurance and that's just crappy Blue Cross HMO insurance, with $25 office visits and $15 prescriptions! (for just the two of us, no kids). The cost is actually around $550/month but my employer pays something like 11% on top of my wages towards it. This means that the less I work, the more I have to pay out of my pocket. So my monthly payments might be $100 one month but $200 another month. The average, for my bk papers, was $165/month.

Registered Nurse , Palm Springs California,,,and I work for a hospital.

Zero dollars for premiums, 15/25 copay, free lab, xrays, ect (no copay). 100% coverage if using the hospital I work for ,,,if an inpatient or ER.

                Dental is 16 a month,

                Vision 12 a month

                Total monthly premiums $ 28.00

I have always had good coverage working for hospitals.

I have always considered my medical coverage a part of my salary,,as I would be out about 4 to 6 dollars an hour if having to pay the high premiums for me at 49 years old.
