Battle between smokers and non-smokers:

Non smoker to smoker: "That stuff will kill you".
Smoker's response: "someone told me that years, and years ago, I'm still here and alive".

Non smoker to smoker: "That stinks".
Smoker's response: You passing gas stinks worse".

Anyone here have any more comments??

nonsmoker to smoker: you are free to continue to smoke just do so in an area which does not cause me to breath the smoke...INCLUDING the entrances of buildings!! That is my pet peeve! When I have to walk through smoke clouds to get into a building. I want to scream!

Smoking will kill you, drinking will kill you, YEP!!!!!

So can childbirth, driving a car, a unknown seizure, a "punch" to your head (getting beat up), medicine reaction, a chemical reaction, and a thousand other things in our lives.

I'm a smoker and a drinker (now and then), yet I am still considerate of my fellow man. I don't blow smoke in their face, I don't smoke around their babies/kids unless I'm outside. And I don't drink and drive!!!!!!!!

Yet I encounter non smokers and non drinkers everyday WHO endanger themselves, their children, and ME and everyone else ........ driving down the road with a cell phone "yaking away"............
They swerve off the road, and forget their driving................ OR they have a heavy foot and like to speed............ always in a hurry to go nowhere.............

More and more wrecks are caused by a pepsi in one hand and a cell phone in the other............ or a mother correcting kids in the back seat while she's driving. How dangerous is that!!!! Instead of pulling off the highway, correcting the child, she'd rather try to whip him from the drivers seat............ going down the highway at 70 mph...............

I'm not staying in the world FOREVER, that a proven FACT...... something will take my life....... some sickness, disease, heartattack, an accident, or by someone else's hand or deed.

Not smoking and not drinking MIGHT prolong my life, who knows??? But at the hand of anothers actions, I could leave this world today......

All I'm saying is I will be considerate of YOUR RIGHTS, if YOUR CONSIDERATE OF MINE..................

Smokers...... here in IL are paying all the taxes!! I think there is about a dollar total tax to one pack of cigarrettes. Smokers here are paying for the new roads, etc.

Agree on all accounts! ...BUT.... I still think smokers should refrain from entrance ways and other places that non smokers must walk through.... I say its just a pet peeve, but its actually more because if I have to walk through even a little smoke to enter a building I can have a very bad asthma attack that can send me to the hospital if my inhaler can't stop it. It can actually be life threatening. I am lucky to live in a city where it is illegal to smoke in any public place including 10 or 15 feet (i forget) of the entrance of any business. All bars and restraunts are also smoke free. Many neigborhood streets are also smoke free due to the risk of forest fires. So I am not around smoke very much at all. (I live in California) But it CRAZY when I visit home (Louisiana)...I was there last week. I clutch my inhaler for dear life. I smell like smoke when I get home. It seems like so many people smoke in so many more places. It is just a very different culture. Yes, everyone has their vices. But if we can all be respectful of each other and remember that the things we do can have very serious effect on others beyond just pet peeves.
