I'm so happy about my new job!!!!

I'm so excited that I just wanted to share this with all of you. I've posted before that I've been commuting to work for almost 2 years and I'm on the road 3 hours a day (at least). Well, I was offered a job 15 minutes away and was supposed to start on Monday. It seemed like a good enough job but I seemed so nervous about taking it.

So Sunday night a small software company calls me and asks me to come in for an interview on Wednesday. I figured "what do I have to lose" so I went. They offered me a job to start with them on Monday. I'm so excited because they offered me even more money and are offering me completely flexible hours. They said I can work morning, nights, from home whatever as long as I get the job done. The job is also exactly what I want to do which is web development/programming.

I'm just so excited. This is a dream come true for me. I plan on working from 6:30-2:30 and can be home before my daughter even gets off the bus.

Now I do have to call that other company and change my mind. I'll be calling them in a little bit and I'm dreading the conversation...

    CONGRADULATIONS......

Hope all the new exiciting changes in your life keep coming down the line................

New jobs can be exciting, challenging, and very uplifting, especially to someone who has been thru the mill in bankruptcy.

Be sure to check out all options - pros and cons - before making your decisions. Sometimes if it looks or sounds "too good to be true" - it IS.... So an ounce of caution here........

Hope its what you want and need to help with your Fresh New Start........

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

          CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

What language? What type of website?

As you know I'm a computer programmer as well doing web development and architecture. I work in C#/.Net and ASP.Net 2.0. It's always cool when more chicks get into programming.

That's what I'm going to be doing. My boss said ASP and then he mentioned .Net so I think it will be ASP.Net. I don't remember which editor he said I'll be using but I know I haven't used it before. Right now I'm programming in COBOL on a mainframe so I'm really looking forward to the change.

The website is going to be an e-commerce website. It's cool because this company is small (12 employees) but the contract they just got signed on Oct 15 for this e-commerce site is a 20million dollar contract - good for the next 5 years. That's what I'll be working on mostly once I get going (he's going to start me out on a few smaller projects the first few weeks).

              Congrats

Congratulations, that's awesome. I started a new job 2 months ago and I know it can be scary. I had to move and everything, but it's $15k more per year, great benefits and we're closer to family. I'm glad I made the move.

When you call the other company, be prepared; they may offer you more money to get you to stay with them.

                  Other than that, CONGRATS!
