at this point, I wish to excercise my right not to vote this election

The Liberty Party of Vermont and The Socialist Party of USA have both put their support behind Brian Moore (http://www.votebrianmoore.com/)

Libertarian Party has chosen its candidate now, Bob Barr. (http://www.bobbarr2008.com/)

The Green Party is currently deciding as well ( I think Cyntheia McKinney is in the lead for their nomination).

I just want folks to be aware there are other choices. Most of these and many other parties also put forth congressional nominations as well. As someone above said, we have to remove the Democrats and Republicans both in the Presidency and in the Congress if we want to see true change. (Well at least enough of them to keep veto overrides from working).
        good good post. excellent!! Bravo!

It will take a few more elections for people to realize, but eventually it will come to pass.

Just vote using the good ole Ini-Mini-Miny-Mo method to cast your vote...

OMG. That was so funny! That will keep me laughing this whole week. I bet so many people get there & when it comes time to actually choose they don't know for sure what to put. When those people who preach that everyone should vote, I can say I voted but closed my eyes when I pushed the buttons. That or cast an empty ballet so everyone gets my vote. LOL!

Ini-Mini-Miny-Mo, catch a president by the toe

By not voting nothing will ever change, that's whats wrong in America far to many people chose not to vote. That only helps the two status quo parties.

While many of Dr. Paul's ideas may seem radical or even extreme, he is speaking truthfully to the American people on many problems we'll face. While his solutions may not be the only valid ones, at least he's suggesting something. In essence he's out of the race, there is no purpose served by remaining in the Presidential race. John McCain has far more than the necessary delegates, and in the unlikely event he died before the Republican Convention it is likely they'd either put Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee on the ticket and not Ron Paul.

If you like some of Dr. Paul's ideas but not others, I might suggest looking at Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin, they have some similar ideas, but not necessarily as radical in some areas.

The greatest impediment is the many ballot and debate laws passed by the Republicans and Democrats to keep the 'third' parties off the stage. They made these even more stringent after Ross Perot.

Bob Barr will probably appear on the ballot in 48 states.

Chuck Baldwin I'm not sure but maybe half of that with write in status in many more.

Brian Moore, I've not seen any figures anywhere, but I suspect he'll not be on a majority of the ballots. Probably more write in like Chuck Baldwin.

(Also keep in mind for write in in most states you have to be recognized by the state or commonwealth as a write in candidate. Laws and regulations vary widely by state about how to achieve this status.)

People choose not to vote because they refuse to vote for liars. When someone does not vote, it is the same as voting for everyone. I for one dont play this vote for one to keep the other one out game.

by not voting we do not have to regret choosing the wrong of the lesser of the evils. all I have to see is more than one lie, then as far as I am concerned they are not worthy of a leadership position of such magnitude & they will never get my vote. That does not leave very many candidates.

While I agree by voting for the other parties is the way to go, I suppose we simply live where the best liar wins because they deceive the most people or you have someone like Bushes brother who makes the final decision & your vote amounts to nothing.

I dont follow politics just to vote to satsify people who think everyone should vote, just because. I am also against the entire voting system, process & race, that also needs to change to make it fair for everyone & not just the best liar, family politics, or the ones with the most money always winning.

People do not have to vote if there is no one they like.

They have the right to opt out & no one should feel pressure to have to vote for president. Though I would recommend voting for the people in city, county & a little closer to home because they will hear the people & can actually get things done for you locally, where things really matter.

I wish there was a None of the Above for folks to vote on if they liked none of the candidates. It might actually bring more people to the polls. The only party that allows a NOTA at their convention is the Libertarian party.

While people can chose not to vote, it makes little sense not to vote. It in no way hurts either candidate nor does it help them by not voting. There will never be the perfect candidate, the one we agree with on every issues, it simply is not possible to find such a person. We are a nation of 330 million people and even if you count all the registered parties and all had ballot access that would be about 1 candidate per 15 million people. You can't get 10 people in a room and have them all agree on the same things, more less 15 million. Thus if your waiting for a candidate that agrees with you on everything, you might wait your whole life and never vote.

I hope at least even if you choose not to vote for a presidential candidate you'll choose to vote in your state and local elections.

Oh I know but I am not looking for someone perfect or someone who has different opinions on issues or expecting someone who agrees. I am talking about dirt bag fat mouthed liars for president. They must lie to be elected- something wrong with that picture.

I always vote in the primary & in city & state, but the main presidential election is different & is getting worse & more dirty with every election.

My view of someone leading a country is not the typical anything goes view. I want someone I can look up to, honor & trust & that has not happened for a long time & it is not happening in this election either. I do not vote for anyone/someone just because someone else thinks they should.

City & local official is a must vote for me, but is quite different from the white house- these are more normal people who you actually see at the grocery store & in traffic- without needing 100 body guards because they have lied so much.

I always vote for city/state. I don't always vote for President.

I would prefer someone to be honest, even if it is something people don't like, then to sugar coat things to get votes. Mean what you say and say what you mean, that should be their motto.

It definately appears that it will be Obama and McCain running....good grief I hope the voters don't make McCain the next President!! That will be some scary sh1t.

I *HATE* the choices on this upcoming election; at the same time, it's time for Dubyah to go before this country is broke (and I voted for him, twice)... Ron McCain is basically a democrat on the republican ticket, so, really, any vote is democrat.

I'm probably not voting this time.
