Sometimes I feel he looks down at her because she is a woman but at any rate she is his Senior forever! LOL/QUOTE]

I think that our country is so very disgusted with Bush's invasion of Iraq under false pretenses (aka lies) and our 4,000 needlessly dead soldiers, that the majority of the electorate will have Iraq vividly in their mind when they go to the polls in November. That, and the economy, of course.

And the electorate will also remember that BOTH McCain and Hillary voted for the war as well as for every single additional penny or concession Bush asked for, for his Iraq war. Obama voted against. And I think that that, alone, makes him stand out.

I don't think Obama looks down on Clinton "because she's a woman." I think Obama is quite modern and enlightened and doesn't look down on people because of their gender or race. And FYI, there are very, very few "business dresses" out there, and if a woman wears something that is even slightly feminine, the media is sure to report that she's trying to "sex" her way into the election (or the job, or the promotion...). Women in politics have a very tough job just dressing, because whatever they choose to wear, they will be attacked one way or the other.

I agree with your first two paragraphs... but they are doing what you say because she wears pants all the time & say she is trying to be like a man. I just feel that women look pretty when they wear skirts like some of the women preachers & business women do. I am not talking about the stuff out of hollywood but respectful attire. She looks like a dork the way she dresses now, sorry but she does. The Queen of England always looks nice & she is in dresses. Princess Dianne always looked nice but not as a sexist. Do you see what I mean?

You may be right & obama does not look down on her for being a female, that was just a thought I wonder about.

p.s. Ihave no idea how the quote changed but will

I don't really want to get to involved in political discussion here, I'm pretty active locally with editorials in papers and active on some political websites.

True change will not come from the Republicans or Democrats. True change can only come from outside those parties due to the entrenchment necessary in those parties in order to get the nomination.

There is really not much difference between Obama or Clinton as far as voting record goes. There is little difference between either of them and McCain.

What every American needs to realize before it is to late is that government can't solve your problems, you have to solve your own problems. You have to become self reliant and self sufficient. The only way government can provide everything for you, is to take everything from you.

Almost all nations of the EU have nationalized health care. They also all have substantially higher taxes than we do. In most cases that health care falls short of providing the care needed and for example around 90+% of Frenchmen have to buy supplemental care.

We are facing a real problem in the next decade as Medicaid and Medicare will become insolvent. Social Security will follow the decade after. We simply do not have the money to pay out the benefits promised. The primary reason we do not have these funds is Congress has misappropriated the funds for all kinds of pet projects for the last 50 years instead of putting out money in the bank.

We can't afford the housing buyout because of the same mismanagement of our funds. I feel for folks. I live in a place where I'm working on the floors right now, needs roof repair too. Recently my grandmother asked me if I was ready to give up on it and I said no. I realize it isn't the best but I realize it is within my means and a new home is not.

The only way we'll see real change is to stop sending the same people to Washington, Mitt Romney was correct about that. If we keep sending the same people time and again yet expend something different, that's foolish. We need some fresh faces and fresh parties in Washington. Only by that will we find the change that is needed to really fix our country.

It is like watching babies fight over toys in romper room.

She took all the big states so far but what is gettting me is how they are fighting so hard for Indiana as if there is gold there & there is no way either of the dems can win by delegates, but maybe superdelegates. I think someone besides the voters/public will be choosing who the next president will be.

...and McCain has two left feet & is blind in one eye- exit stage right...did you see that? har! har! ooops

I couldn't agree more with the above.
The SYSTEM is corrupt and so as long as we have it set up so that ONLY a Republican or a Democrat can win an election, there will be no real change. Ever.

And furthermore, as long as "he with the most money" wins, and it takes TONS of money (coming from PAC's of course, which means Big Business), there will be no change. Because "Big Business" will always win.

So, no matter whether Obama, Clinton, or McCain wins, Big Business wins.

The Obama/Clinton fight is almost a joke. They are both such weak candidates, both have major character flaws and political deficits.

Yet, I would vote for either of them over McCain simply because he is pro-Iraq War, and it is that war which is largely responsible for the economic mess we're in now, and certainly is 100% responsible for the lowering of our reputation in the court of World opinion. Sorry to offend you Republicans out there, but I would vote for a chimpanzee before I'd vote for a Republican right now. The Reps have been in charge for the past 8 years and look at the mess they've made of it!

Okay, I'll give you that the Dems in Congress are also responsible.

So, like I say, the Dems and Reps aren't ALL that MUCH different. I see it like this: the Dems are a little more inclined to care about the people in need and our country as a sovereign country. The Reps only care about them and their buddies getting richer, and to hell with the People!

I agree in the sense that too many of us expect government to be "daddy" - to take care of us and provide for us, etc. And we've become a nation of sheep who want Daddy to take care of us.

On the other hand, I don't think we can solve our own problems. We created this government in the first place precisely because we needed a government to survive in the world. And in today's economy trading with the world is more important than ever. So we do need government.

However, what we need is a government that cares more about people than about getting rich. We need a government that does NOT run itself like a Corporation where all that matters is the bottom line: profit. And power. To make more profit.

But how can we change this?

We alone cannot do it. We need to rise up in mass, in much the same way as my generation ended the war in Viet Nam. We need huge protests. We need to DEMAND changes in the way elections are run, the way candidates are funded, the way government is responsive to the needs of our own people first and to other countries - and corporations - second.

              But it ain't gonna happen.

              Too many people don't care.

Too many people care but have opted out of the system, won't even vote because "voting is a waste of time".

Too many people are too comfortable with their tv and beer.

Too many people have a nihilistic attitude.

And the job of changing things has grown way too big, because we've let it get out of control for way too long.

I did not know that about France. That is interesting. Michael Moore in "Sicko" made it sound as if France had very good health care.

In any case, I believe we CAN provide affordable health care for all IF we have the will to, as a nation.

You watch it every 30 minutes? eeeeewwwwwwww

MAYbe Hilary has her own little plan to get even with Bill, with her own secretary between her legs.

It was ok in the beginning but I wont turn it on now. I am constantly asking my cousin to turn off the crap at home if he is not going to watch it because their voices wreck my nerves like 5 year olds fighting & lying about who did what & who took who's toy.

I am not voting for any of them... Well, I may cast my vote for Ron Paul if he is still available then. He did get 16% of the vote in PA.
I feel as more Americans wake up to the lie of the Rep & Dem crappy voting system, the better chance we have at saving the country because neither Oba, Cli or Mc are going to make things better though neither of them lie as well as Boo!sh does.

I know we will be stuck with another big fat liar for a leader.

                  Ron Paul for President!!!

                  Vote for Ron Paul!!!

Welll come to think of it...I really don't care about what Mcain has to say becuase it'll be the same garbage we're already getting.

I am not a Republican NOR a Democrat - I think it's a matter of choosing the lesser of evils - but I want to point out that when you say ""all the problems developed under our current leadership", you should be sure to include the Democrats in the Senate and House!

I wish we could blame just the Republicans, but we really can't.

The problem is BOTH parties are corrupt and both parties are to blame.

What we need is to revamp all the election, campaign and political contribution laws, and allow a viable alternative 3rd party candidate to be allowed on a fair playing field.

Thus far only a few other parties have endorsed other candidates:

The Constitution Party and the American Independence Party have both put their support behind Chuck Baldwin (http://www.baldwin2008.com/)

The Liberty Party of Vermont and The Socialist Party of USA have both put their support behind Brian Moore (http://www.votebrianmoore.com/)

Libertarian Party has chosen its candidate now, Bob Barr. (http://www.bobbarr2008.com/)

The Green Party is currently deciding as well ( I think Cyntheia McKinney is in the lead for their nomination).

I just want folks to be aware there are other choices. Most of these and many other parties also put forth congressional nominations as well. As someone above said, we have to remove the Democrats and Republicans both in the Presidency and in the Congress if we want to see true change. (Well at least enough of them to keep veto overrides from working).
