Like some people at church & at work just put too much on, or some people don't bathe very much & pile on the perfume, not realizng how bad they really smell. Some people don't realize what they put on does not mix with their chemistry after & few minutes but it might smell nice right from the bottle & on others.
Cherry tobacco remind me of my grandpa..... I get all nostalgic, even if I'm sneezing my arse off.
On the some people dont bathe much..ROTFLOL! How very French of them. Trust me I had to stay there for an extended time. The subway "metro" is cologne/BO/chanel perfume/urine/ciggie. It's a lovely aroma. I had to hold my breath.

Many folks are "chemical sensitive" - LIKE ME!!!

But nobody seems to give a rats @*** whether I end up in ER because of their cologne, air freshners, etc..... This even includes people I work with......

They will listen to me choke half to death - and still spray more.....

They have made me severely sick on more than one occassion.....

One of the girls has a grandbaby that stays sick....... especially when she is around her grandma...... I told her to quit exposing the baby to all the "crap" that she wears..... it JUST MIGHT HELP!!!!

By the time you take a bath with one scented soap, then use scented bath powders of another kind, then put on clothes that have a scented detergent along with a scented fabric softener, then spray your hair with scented spray, use your scented makeup, and then spray on your FAVORITE cologne - YOU STINK.................CHEMICALLY. Believe me, all those scents mixed together - DO NOT SMELL GOOD........... Then you come to your office, light scented candles, spray aerosol cans of freshner, and put a new scented plug-in in the wall socket.
AND YOU THINK PEOPLE THINK YOU SMELL GREAT.............NOT HARDLY...........

I smoke - BUT I do not smoke around people that are sensitive or object too it........... But don't hang out in MY OFFICE with all your "crap" that I have to smell, if you don't want to smell cig smoke.....

If I can be considerate of your needs why can't you be considerate of mine??? You don't mind sending me to the hospital in a ambulance!!!!

        My thoughts on the matter.

I'm EXTREMELY sensitive, period. Smells and strong fragrances can give me instant headaches. I hate shopping at department stores because of that. Pretty much my whole day could be ruined with a migraine if someone decides to marinate in their cologne.

Not only the "instant headache", but the coughing and choking that can come on, plus the asthma attack it can all create........ ( I can go into an asthma attack just walking thru the cologne or detergent isle in the store)... I buy everything un-scented and aerosol free (pump) cans.

Don't get me wrong folks, its a "free country"...... wear what you like..........some folks smell great!!!! Often wish that I myself could wear some of it...... but most I can't.

But also be considerate of the person who is being considerate of your dislikes also............

We all have health problems - in one shape form or fashion!!!!

I do my best to avoid people who are covered up in colognes, for my own health reasons. But yet even if I explain to them I'm allergic, they still get upset if I avoid them..... they tell me I'm ignoring them, etc. Why won't I be friends??? Well, their friendship can send me to the hospital...... don't need those kind of friends!!!

One of the doctors I used to go too had a sign in her office - DO NOT WEAR COLOGNE to this office - your Dr. is allergic to it................and will not see you if you do!!!!

How's that for being chemically sensitive.....

I do not like strong perfume, thats why I always wear Amazing Grace by Philosophy. Its just a clean smell, and people seem to like it. You have to be really close to smell it and it is not overpowering. I was helping with a wedding the other day and the second photographer had on the strongest perfume. Everytime she moved I wanted to puke. It smelled like the nasty powder that old ladies use. I also work with a lady that smells NASTY. Her perfume smells like it is 5 years old and she continues to wear it, and it gives me a headache. I understand what you are talking about!!! Some people need to get a clue

OMG I LMAO at the triple stank. Bandit, you are NUTS..LOL!!!
I cant understand WHY people think canned aerosol stank smells better than crap. Its all crap to me. I am DEATHLY allergic to most aerosol sprays, in particular LYSOL sends me into an instant asthma attack. My mother still insists upon spraying EVERYTHING with it daily and burning two different scented Yankee candles afterward. Then I try to have tea with her and end up with hives, clutching my inhaler, popping Zytrec.
Then my sister who has a million cats and whole house smells like catpan trys to cover up catpan (IMPOSSIBLE) with Febreeze and yankee candle. OMG..instant death. When i had a cat I would put baking soda in the catpan along with the arm and hammer litter and never had smells..plus Im OCD and cleaned it daily. Maybe hourly at times.
Yes, I am severely chemically sensative. I can really only vinagar and baking soda to clean and those Method brand cleaners. The only chemicals I buy are scrubbing bubbles for the bathroom (wear a mask) and sometimes I have to buy mildew killer for the grout. Windex also kills me. I have no idea why.
My other sister is so chemically sensative she was hospitalized this year for it.
Its odd, as I grew up in a FILTHY three bedroom house with two dogs, four cats, hamsters, birds no less than six people at any given time and my mother never cleaned. They say you grow stronger from the germs, but not me. This is how I became OCD as an adult.

                        Whatamess,
I can definitely relate to you and your allergies...... have been that way for years!!!!!!!! Getting old now, but at least I know what to avoid to help keep me healthy....

Household cleaners KILL ME...... Windex has amonia (very sensitive) and with many cleaners its the bleach or flouracarbons that make the spray cans spray.

My house is clean, but not from all the chemicals I use. Basic vinegar/water and lots of baking soda..... I use unscented detergent to mop my floors (works okay)

Note: If you have a child that stays sick (always a cold) cut back on the chemical use and see if it helps. Especially the Downey in the clothes and scented soap detergents.

I stayed sick a LOT as a kid because my mom used a lot of chemicals to clean with.....

I'm really sensitive to baby powder (anything with talcum in it), bleach, amonia, aerosal cans, colognes.) Wonder how many babies stay sick because mom uses baby powder instead of corn starch (that works just as good if not better)......??????

Many children has asthma due to what their parents use around the house which could be prevented..... what a shame!!! Downey or Snuggles in their clothes makes them sick all day!!! Something so simple, yet so deadly......

LOL! I don't get that either because the spray does not make the stinky crap smell go away...it just blends in making a new stinky smell that is nasty. Like, let's make lilac & crap scent in a can.

ROFL!!! Lilac and crap scent in a can. Imagine the advertising possibilities for that one!!!

I am very sensitive to chemicals--tobacco smoke (very allergic!!), perfumes, colognes, hairspray, and even the detergent aisle in the supermarket can set off a migraine if I am not careful. My kids don't seem to understand this and become offended if I say something about their cologne.

I had to quit singing in the choir because the perfume odors were so bad.

                              SOOOOOOO GLAD I'M NOT ALONE..................

I saw a thing on Dateline about chemical sensitive people..... and they hit it right on the nailhead about how sick we can become... all because of cologne, fabric scents, spray cans......

Evidently there are a LOT OF US, more than we realize...... and the numbers are growing.....

Someday I hope we have "RIGHTS" to help us in the work place..... Right now the only thing were protected from is mold and mildew (which OSHA) will come in and address if a company does not clean it up. Black mold can make you deathly sick. All you have to do is report it to OSHA - and they show up at the door........ They say it is as bad as abestos......

Nice to know I'm not alone with my own private allergies....... I'll willingly SHARE............
