Older generations used "smoked/dried meats" - fresh meat and fresh kill chicken..... no preservatives......

All fruits and veggies were garden canned at home......

No additives added to their food. Many of the foods they used they grew themselves, canned or dried themselves. Even the milk was fresh, butter was freshly made..

I can remember churning butter at my grandmother's and when supper came "Ralph - the chicken" was on the dinner table along with fresh or canned veggies etc. My grandparents milked daily.

I can't believe that all the preservatives/additives are good for us, if they were THEN WE WOULD BE WELL PRESERVED................

The more "foreign" stuff we put into our bodies, the unhealthier we all seem to get....

Even now, our drinking water has soooooo many additives its unreal.... just to make it safe too drink.

The best water I ever tasted was well water or fresh spring water.

If people KNEW all the stuff that was in their drinking water and what it LOOKED LIKE BEFORE PROCESSING and what was ADDED after processing - THEY WOULDN'T DRINK IT.................. (I spent a week at our water processing plant when we installed a new section to the plant).

NOTHING IS PURE ANYMORE........ only rainwater - and its full of soot and gasoline waste.....

And if you think your "bottled water" is BETTER - think again - it's bottled by a local water company......

Many meds start out being good for us, THEN all of a sudden they are being pulled from the market......... bad side effects or longterm damages too the body.

Wonder what the future holds in store, don't you??
    Agreed!

I have also said for YEARS that I believe the reason that skin cancer is around now, is because of all the unnatural chemicals that are being cooked into our skin; not because of the sun!!!
BUSY running my own credit repair services! Sorry I don't stop in so often any more!

I stubbed my toes the other day really bad, all black & blue, limping and all. Should I go to the store & get a pill for it?

I still grow some of my own vegetables, like green beans, peppers, tomatoes, strawberries. raspberries. It is a much better veggie grown at home & one plant yields 100X what you pay at the store. I takes very little time to grow & harvest them, just have to keep an eye on them when they start to give fruit & eat them as they come off or freeze some for winter. I would not get into apples, pears & tree bearing fruit as they are too costly to maintain & keep disease & bug free.
Corn takes up a lot of space & the squirrels & deer eat it before I can. Things like that I get at the market.

If it were possible to have a milking cow, just one, I would also do that & sell some or give it to others. I would have a lot of manure to shovel & get rid of in the winter. I was raised around some of this & it is tough, but the time & money spent driving around & waiting in line would be worth it to me.

Aloe Vera is still pure, that is if you don't buy it already mixed up in lotions, shampoo & medicines with chemicals. Really, it is the best thing I have ever used for a burn. If you don't have a plant then get a small one & put it in a sunny window. It takes very little water & produces awesome, almost instant healing for burns, sunburns & small cuts. Neosporin is good too but the aloe works wonders.

But yah, everything else is pretty much been traded in for soot & waste. I do burn firewood again, talk about soot & ashes, but it cut the heating bill here to less than a 1/3. A lot of people have gone back to wood stoves & fireplace inserts recently. This does come with some cautions. It takes a little more time but way less time than taking on a second & third job to pay the gas bill.

Talking about cutting bills...... I think I will start a new thread on Ways to cut your Bills.........

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
