Technical/legal question:
What would happen if someone would write "Paid in Full", on a check's comment line, AND the creditor processes/cashes that check? Even though account is not paid in full.
While clerks in payment centers are supposed to bring checks like that to the attention of management, the volume of checks processed by one individual, the lack of real attention a check gets could result in some of these actually be processed.
I know for fact that the legal payment amount is the written amount and not the numerical amount, but just wondering about the "Paid in Full" issue.
