Yep - this made National News the other night...... they were very concerned over toddlers under the age of 6 receiving ANY medicines off this list.....

It's sad when toys aren't safe, schools aren't safe, and now medicines aren't safe, etc.......

Its getting very hard to protect our children from outside the home abuse.....

Me- I still believe in "chicken soup therapy"................and it works for me!!!

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

I knew that a study came out last year showing that decongestants were not proved beneficial in children under 2, but no harm was demonstrated either. I have had a few pharmacists recommend I not give my sick daughter a decongestant. However, her doctor and I feel that aggressive use of decongestants are the only thing keeping my daughter from having to get tubes in her ears.
So I am actually disappointed in this. And, I'm one of those mom's who has always tried very hard to reduce the number of medications my child recieve. I’ll have to have another talk with her doctor at her 18month check-up next week.

I'll post the link given by CNN this morning.

They pulled them becuase they are sometimes administered incorrectly and are sometimes ineffective. They want to change the label so it no longer states "under 2 - consult physician".

My pediatrician just recently gave me some sample Triaminic for my 10 mo old daughter. It has helped her congestion so she sleeps better. She wasn't napping at all during the day but now that she can breath, she's ok. You just have to be very careful not to overdose. I only needed to give her one dose for one day. After that, it kind of cleared up itself.

I have 2 kids that are sick right now! One is 3 and the other 6 months. I haven't gave them baby anything but I've been giving my 3 year old toddler robitussin. This really freaks me out. I'm already freaked out enough because of the vaccine controversy and now this!

8 years ago, when my boys where in the baby/toddler stage, there was controversery over the liquids...I'm so not surprised by this.

You can overdose an infant/toddler so quickly...I'm glad they finally pulled them.

But, in our world, heck, we can't even brush our teeth with toothpaste (remember the toothpaste recall in the summer?) We can't feed our pets dog/cat food, it's getting really bad...

I wonder what's really in my slimfast?
