Just wanted to share with all of you my horrible experience with Empire Today carpet buisness. Beware!!!
They came out for an estimate and measured my entire house, I was shocked when the guy told me that it would be $5,800 to carpet the whole house with their very cheepest brand of flooring. Home Depot came to measure a week ago and I picked out carpet that was $2.22/sq.ft. installed with padding, it totaled to $3,200. I thought that Home Depot was expensive so I called the Empire guys today to get a second estimate.
WHAT A RIP OFF...
Well after some negotiating and the guy being a total A hole, I talked him down to $3,100 and got the mid grade. Plus they're going to remove the carpet and move furniture. So, to make the long story short, they came down $2,700 from the original price, BEWARE if you deal with them. They will take you for a ride IF THEY CAN...
Other than that, the short sale on my second house fell through and it looks like we'll be going into forclosure after all.... That really blows... They buyer backed out. Anyone looking to buy a house $30,000 under market value in Michigan?
