    Office fun

I manage a lab of 5 people plus myself and my boss. We have had a very busy summer and things don't look like they will slow down for us until after October. This week I am noticing everyone's stress levels being sky high. Does anyone have some ideas for some fun things we can do to help everyone's stress levels out? I know the only real fix is to get our stuff done, but I would love some ideas to lighten things up a bit. We are all in our 30's (boss in his 50's) and we have 3 women and 4 men in our group. So it would have to be something to appeals to a diverse group.

Okay - I just realized that payday is friday (we only get paid once a month). That may take care of the problem all by itself. Still if anyone has a good idea of some fun stress relevers I could try with my group I'll deffinately try them or keep them handy to try another day.

One thing my work does is post plans for a "country lunch" where everyone signs up to bring in a specific country's food items and we eat all the food at lunch together. It doesn't cost much, is lots of fun (one of my co-worker brought salsa-flavored Doritos for Mexican! lol!), and it's a good social time to get to know each other better besides.

Another idea - Summer Santa where the office trades names in secret, then your Summer Santa sneaks in and leaves little gifts on your desk that remind him/her of something they like about you for three straight days (very strict rule - the 3 gifts together can't total more than $10). The creativity people use to stay under the limit is amazing! (And the dollar store gets quite a workout! ) Then at a team lunch, you get to guess who your Summer Santa is.

Some other ideas....an office building or personal desks treasure hunt, get together one afternoon to put together a bicycle to donate to charity, and volunteer an afternoon at a local Ronald McDonald house or other local charity.

We have very creative folks here - I'm sure you'll get lots more suggestions!

Once a year our office takes a "CPR Class"......

We learn, we laugh our butts off at each other, and hopefully in the future we might save someone's life....

Helps relieve stress and learn a lot too......

        Its a thought,

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
