My oldest son Jordon is very small for his age at 3 years old he is 25 lbs and 34 inches tall. The dr's are very concerned about this and want him to get blood work tomorrow.

I am worried because he's my little man and don't want anything to be wrong. So please pray that theres nothing wrong and he's just small. Because I don't think I could handle it if there was something wrong.

My younger Sis was like FS's wee one. Active and a picky eater. Always small for her age as a young child. Drove the doctor crazy, but Sis was always healthy.

Hopefully that's all it is. That this is normal for your son, JS.

Oh my word, I don't ever want to take him to get bloodwork done again. They took 10 vials of blood and he screamed the whole time. Thank goodness it didn't take too long and I cheered him up with pizza and a smoothie.

My thoughts are with you. I have two sons 22 mo. apart. One had teeth & ate nothing, the other had no teeth but ate steak at six months....my older one is skinny & my younger one is thick...but it was the same way with my xhusband & his brother, of who my sons mirror....they change all the time, just make sure everything's okay with your results. I was skinny & short and looked always 10 years younger than my age...now, at 45, I appreciate it.

Sounds like my boys, 28 months apart but so different. Jordon is so small, Trent my 8 month old is just 3 pound slighter than his brother and 4 inches shorter. The only thing with Jordon is that he loves to eat. Anything with lots of meat, which is part of the reason we don't know why he is getting any bigger.

my neice was under 35lbs until she was almost 6 yrs old and she is perfectly normal today. She is now 11 and is still small for her age but within the normal range. Don't worry too much. I'm a Pediatric nurse, and my advice, it altough you should definitely do the bloodwork to rule out any disease or abnormality, you should probably not worry and and just realize that some children grow at different rates and some people are just small people......and some small children grow up to be big adults!! I will pray for you.....to not worry! Keep us posted....

My oldest daughter I swear was 46Lbs for about 3 years, she kept getting taller but not gaining weight, she is now 13 and very tall for age and skinny but healthy. I am finally a normal weight range, heck maybe 5 lbs over LOL, but I was a very thin kid and adult until after my 4th kid then I get a to a normal weight.

if you or your husband has a small frame he may take if from you guys. As long as you son has lots of energy and eats really well, I would not worry about it. Kids go through through this, once the test comes back normal you will feel much better. My 3 year old is skinny as well and does not eat much, I have no idea what he is running on because he has lots of energy but after 4 kids, I kind of know what to look for.

Most definitely! I have a "peanut" too! LOL She is 40" tall, weighs 31 pounds and is 3.5 years old. She's a VERY picky eater, just like her Daddy, guess the apple didn't fall far from the tree.

Her pediatritian has never acted worried about her size, so hopefully it's a matter of "great things come in small packages".

so the thyroid, red blood cell count, white blood cell count, sugar, and other tests were all normal. his insulin levels which are supposed to be around 25 or something of the such was under 2... so that is super LOW....

they are waiting for one test to get back the insulin growth hormone test... which will tell us whats really going on...

my one question was if the low insulin meant he was diabetic and I got an assured no because his sugar levels are normal.

But we will still go see the endocrinologist... so that is what I know. When I find out everything else I will let you all know.
