    Let's talk ghosts :)

Yes, I do believe in them, lived in a house with a ghost as a toddler, but what I experienced Saturday was just weird!

I'm helping a colleague (antique dealer/appraiser) with a house sale. We're getting things tagged and cleaned up for the sale which starts Wednesday. It's in a 3 story old victorian home and she was in the basement doing laundry and I was in the upper level sorting stuff.

I heard a door slam and assumed it was her, nope, she was still in the basement. Turns out she and one of the other ladies has heard this same door and I know I heard it once before, but didn't think anything of it until Saturday when I KNEW I was the only one in the upper level of the house.

I asked my boss just to make sure she was still downstairs when she came up and she yeah. I told her about the door slamming and she said she hadn't said anything but I'm the 3rd person that's mentioned it. So we went to the attic door and it was open, so we locked it. But I kid you know, while I was standing there, I think every hair on my body was standing on end and I told my boss that my skin felt like it was crawling. She said that hers was too. We kept working and nothing weird happened after that, but that was just weird.

The ghost(s) in my house as a toddler weren't mean or anything, they'd lie down in my bed and rattle the pots and pans hanging on the wall, but I never felt that skin creeping thing until Saturday.

So, anyone have any ghost stories they'd like to share?

Ive never been one to believe in this stuff but...

My sister owned an old 1800's victorian home for years. My BIl would go to work, nephew to school and it was just her and the dog. The dog barked at stuff all the time and growled, like at the attic door. The doors would open and shut up there, she heard footsteps, and a girl crying. I thought she was full of crap until I slept there one night. VERY creepy place. You could hear things all night long.
When she was packing up to move, we went to the basement and we were moving around old things down there that were there when she moved in. We moved this old chest and the wall behind it fell!!! There was another room back there full of antique furniture. We had a bonanza. After we cleaned that there was yet another smaller room behind that one that was empty except a dress form. Why the folks had boarded those rooms up with all that stuff is bewildering.
Just thinking about that place gives me the creeps.

oh my god....any of you ever been to that site, Ghost Village?

If there's a spirit in the sky, g-d, and or devil....then undoubtedly there's ghosts....ooooh, just got that shiver...

I was told, seven years ago, that there were some nasty ones in my house, which I left to my xhusband...they were in corners of the rooms,...weird...but

I used to party & go up in the attics of the next homes that I rented after the divorce & I used to see dark shapes moving about....I didn't have computer access so I had no idea about what I saw except to chalk it up to good drugs?! But, now......I think I opened up a door (similar to Pandora's box) and I get intense feelings about things now that I was never aware of before.....hmm?

So when your house is in forclosure does the ghost come with the house? Or, is that considered personal property?

No place on the schedules to list it. I bet some trustee would find a way to get at the ghost as an asset, if you were able to offer tours and stuff.

That would be a hellish court battle.

              Good Question!

I'm not sure...it's a good question for ghost busters!

I had hoped that I left mine behind!

I did have a dream the other night, you know the kind where you actually feel things happening? and I dreamed that someone was trying to stab me in my right side...I told them to stop it, I even felt the pressure of a stab...but it stopped...any thoughts?

Alot of roads in the north FL area are supposedly haunted. The locals have always talked about it, but it was a weird coincidence that I saw it the other day on CNN and then later that night I am alone driving home on the same road at 3am I guess theres just been so many people that have died on certain streches of road, and the area was also heavy into the slave trade, plantations etc.... I suppose it doesn't take much to get people spooked at nighttime, but when many many people have had the same certain experiences, ya never know...

                      My Ghost story

In 1995-1996 I would receive faxes in the middle of the night to my main phone line. Those were the days before DSL so one needed a seperate line for the internet connection/fax. It would get annoying. Every couple of months or so, the phone would ring in the middle of the night, about 1:30, and it was a fax. I finally got tired of it and switched the fax and the main line each night before bed and lo and behold, I received a fax. It was from my daughter who worked nights at Winn Dixie. She sent me an Easter Bunny fax. Ok mystery solved.

Fast forward to Dec 1997. This loving daughter was killed in an auto crash. Needless to say, I was devastated. Anyway, on with the story.

Around Feb 28, 1998 , which is my husbands birthday, I received a fax that was nothing but a page of dots.

Next year, March 28, 1999, the birth date of the deceased daughter, I received the exact same fax, nothing but dots. At some point I connected the dots and there was a single stem rose bud with a tiny little bud coming off the stem. I made the connection, it was my daughter reaching out to me to let me know she was still around. Other things happened too, like my briefcase would be moved while I was working at home. I would set it down beside me as I sat down at the desk and later I would reach for it and it was moved to behind me. I could not have moved it with my chair. so that wasn't the answer. The copy machine I had a home had a sheet feeder. I would put in a set of papers and return to the desk while it copied the papers. I would return to the copier when it was finished to make another set of copies , and the slider bar that kept the papers tight was moved and the set of papers wouldn't fit back into the sheet feeder until I moved the slider back to the original position.

The next year, 2000, nothing in Feb or March. We moved in April to where we are now. I hated to leave that phone number behind, knowing I wouldn't hear from my daughter again.

Well not to be outdone, May 20, my wedding anniversary, 9 am sharp, I receive yet another fax. Keep in mind we had only been in the house 6 weeks, I hadn't given the fax number out to anyone, in fact I hadn't even thought about the fax because it was a fax/modem and I was only using the line for a modem connection. Yes, it was the same page of dots that would connect to make a single stem rose with a baby bud. I can offer no other explanation except the one I have given you here.

Since then we got the grandchildren (deceased daughter had no children) and at various times, their toys have started playing music all on their own. Lately, the TV in my office will just turn off by itself.

One final note, in the still of the evening, both my husband and I can see movement out of the corner of our eye. We turn to look and of course, there is nothing and no one there.

If you have a reasonable explanation for any of this, please keep it to yourself, as I find all this very comforting and it is one of the ways I have dealt with the loss of my daughter.

Thank you for your story. Very touching and beautiful moments for you. You don't mind to tell us more about her death? She must be still young at that age I guess.

Wow, Granny! I can see how that would be comforting! I certainly won't be one to try to give you some other explanation.

I am also a believer. Last summer, my husband and I rented a cabin in the mountains for our anniversary. Neither of us noticed anything out of the ordinary until our last night there.

While I was in the shower, my husband heard footsteps in the living room, just as if someone walked right by. Our 2 dogs heard it too, because they went absolutely nuts! He said the dogs' heads turned along with the footsteps just like they were watching someone walk by.

Then when my hubby was in the shower, I was sitting on the couch in the livingroom and heard a tapping behind my head. It was just like someone tapping thier fingers on the wall, like a rolling tap. There was no one else in the cabin with us and hubby was on the other side of the cabin! All the hairs on my body were sticking up...It was a very eerie feeling.

My grandmother has told me some ghostly stories about when she grew up in North Carolina. Now, I know what she's talking about!

I enjoy hearing stories like this. But, then again, when I sit up in the evening after hubby has gone to bed...Its a little more creepy! ;)

She was 20 and her boyfriend was 27, she was the passenger. It was a clear, crisp Saturday in December. They were both killed instantly when they were T-boned by a former classmate of hers. The classmate was driving an old Chevy truck, the ones built like tanks and my daughter was riding in a Taurus. The classmate was driving 77 mph in a 35 mile an hour zone, in front of a day care. There was a slight blind hill and I don't believe the classmate had time to avoid the crash and I don't think either my daughter or her boyfriend ever saw the truck coming at them. My daughter's boyfriend had just left the intersection and was halfway across in his left turn when they crashed. The truck pushed their car about 100 feet before it came to a stop. The driver who hit them wasn't hurt and for that I am thankful, but unfortunately, it has ruined his life also. He received probation for the crash, became a hermit and didn't work after that. From what I have heard, he become somewhat violent with his family. He went on to commit other crimes and eventually did time. I really didn't want that for him because even though he was driving recklessly, foolishly, without regard for life or limb, I don't believe it was intentional on his part and even though our kids are gone, there was no sense in letting it ruin his life too. He was only 19 at the time.

It's all very sad, but I know my daughter is in a much better place. My other daughter's believe in ghosts too because of what has happened here so they know mom will be back to haunt them too.
I used to have a life, now I have grandkids.

Thanks Granny. Your loving attidtue & continued sorrow for her have always keept her floating around to comfort you with your current BK. However, when all things had subsided and you will be happy with your life again, I am sure she will find a new happy abode or goes on to next life transmigration without regret for this life anymore. God bless both of you.
