And a listing of all your assets with their current market values, and a listing of all your financial accounts with the current amounts in each.

The lawyer will also be interested in knowing the last time you used each of your credit cards in the last 90 days, if you paid more than $600 to a single creditor in the last 70 days, when you last took your name off or transferred title to any of your assets, and when you last closed any financial accounts.

I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

        This is what I did:

        This is what I did:

Checked out my lawyers website. Called the CCCS class and did a telephone consultation. Got my Certificate of the Debtors Education Course-a-majigger after spending about 30-40 minutes with them. They emailed it to me within 15 minutes!

Got a copy of my tax transcripts from the past 5 years within 2 weeks from calling the 800-IRS line (I only needed the past 2 years but I said what the heck, extra wouldn't hurt just in case).

Made copies of all my pay stubs plus some prior to 6 months.

Made copies of all my bank statements plus some.

Made copies of all credit card statements plus some. Had all original consolidation loan applications.

Hmmm, what am I missing ??? Think I covered it all. What helped me prepare (and little did they know and little did I know THAN) was the rip off Debt Program I entered before I decided BK was the SAFE way to go. I'm still pissed off about the $500 I lost to them but better than losing almost $3000 more.

        Best of Luck, CatchMeIfYouCan !

I did credit counseling first. That way I had my bills compiled, statements, a budget, ect already. Credit counseling told me I needed to declare bankruptcy. I just took the folder of stuff from credit counceling to the lawyers office when we went.
