    Wife doing fine

Just wanted to let everyone know that my wife is doing fine in her new position. She is back in legal work making good money again and hopefully the lean years are gone. I have quit having to work so much OT after many years, i was burnt. What I love most is that once probation ends she can look at other Counties for transfers, that will be in the future when i retire and I won't have to worry about paying the Insurance since I can fully retire at 53.

Her benefits are excellent and I switched my sons and her from my Avmed with Miami Dade County to her AvMed with the State which is $298.00less per month. She has alot of other perks that sweeten the pot.

What is odd is that I am realizing how good Miami Dade County's benefits are, there was a reason that our Avmed is more expensive, we pay zero for everything, no "Maximium $3000.00 expense out of pocket". With MARTA (Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Area, I have the benefits package for them, it sorta sucks compared to Dade) it is like The State of Florida you have to pay 250 for a hospital stay, 250 for outpatient surgery, etc... Like the friends who left for MARTA and are now urging us to stay saying the benefits don't compare. Most came back, afew decided to stay. The grass is always greener. We also get a 100.00 bi-weekly bonus to offset the cost of our healthcare also, which i will still get even though my expense will be zero.

My boys are in their late teens and early twenties so once they go solo I plan to put her back on my AvMed.

Been a long road, working two jobs at times, OT and two jobs at times. Then the last few years money shot up and now we seem to be taking off. I've bloody well insured us against even stubbing a toe because I don't want the other "figurative" shoe to drop. I'm not waiting for that though, just thanking and trusting God. She always said that once the kids were grown she was resumingn her career, she kept her word.

Thats great news that things work out for you in the end. I was working 2 full time jobs myself. WHAT a difference after doing THAT for about 10 years down to only 1 full time job. BUT, Ive been able to work OT 60-80 hours extra week. So, hmmm .. I don't mind the pot is sweet at the end of 2 weeks and with NO DEBT, it feels THAT much sweeter!

Congradulate the Mrs. for me Robivi3........ I'm sure she's thrilled after all these years to get back out there and "do her stuff"........... sometimes that can be a "great feeling".....

How's all this going to affect your retirement in Tenn that you have planned for the future......???? Will it help is be better and come much quicker???

Enjoy the extra time you will have now, its long past earned I'm sure...... especially with kids in college and more headed that way.....

Glad to hear a "good success story" for a fellow member............

Me!!! I cook now, but I love to cook anyway and my boys were all taught to cook by both of us. I made sure they knew how to make breakfast and the oldest is a VERY good cook.

Speaking of food, son number one had worked for about a year under a local Mashgiach (the guy who does the Kosher inspections), he has also done the slaughtering. We switched over to Glatt Kosher recently, we are not Jewish, son number one IS and is currently getting his Bachelors Degree in Rabbinical Studies from The Rabbinnical College of America in Morristown New Jersey, LONG STORY that began with abook called "The Case for Christ" which he says left to much unanswered. But the point is that the preparation, cleanliness, inspection and raising of Glatt Kosher, I know it from my son now, is to the absolute highest standard imagineable. These animals are discarded and sold to regular meat sellers if any blemish no matter how small is found on any organ and all the animals are purely corn fed, not fed on the remnants of their dead relatives. The difference in taste alone is unbelievable. Yes, it is more costly but oddly you eat less and feel full.

                rob,

Congrats to the Mrs. rob! Looks like $$ trouble all coming to an end for your family. That is a very good thing!!! YEAH!

Also, I find that very interesting about kosher food. I have heard it before. Some of those old jewish laws are about preventative medicine. Actually, makes me want to eat kosher if I really think about it. Yuck the thought of eating animals with lots of things wrong with them. Actually where do you find these kosher meats? Do you have to go to a jewish meat market? Sounds much healthier than the garbage we currently eat!!

I thought Kosher meant the process met certain standards, some ingredients couldn't be used, and the production line was "blessed" by a Rabbi. I had no idea it was so detailed to get the Kosher designation.

Sounds like you're eatin' good, Robivi!!
