Thanks so much for all the well wishes!!

I know I can always count on my Forum Family to be there for support.

I told Hubby I didn't wanna get any more cats. We were completely blessed to have 2 such wonderful personalities. I know so many people that have sour pusses or kitties that potty where they shouldn't. Ours moved with us every time and took it all in stride. They were real troopers.

But then I think with the kids getting older now and close to leaving home, a couple new babies, when the time is right, and we won't be alone when the kids are gone.

Our Tom used to steal our socks and play with them during the night. We got up this morning, and there was a pair of socks laying in the laundry room floor. Daughter had dropped them there, but it brought a smile to my face just the same.

Really sorry for the loss. I didn't get a chance to read the whole thread until now. He didn't die alone and that means alot. Princess is getting older now and doesn't see well at night. I hope my baby will have many more years. We still after all these years call her "the baby". "Where's the baby?" and such. She slept in my shoe when we got her.

        Sinking Fast,

I am so sorry for your loss. I had my sweet "Smokey" for 18 years. Even had his portrait made at Olan Mills. Other parents went in with their children and I went in with my Smokey. Still have his beautiful picture framed. I hope that you are doing ok. I think there is a heaven for these loveable animals!

Sinking, what a tragedy! I am so sorry for your loss. That was very brave of you to be with your Tom baby in the end.

I lost one of my cats the same day as you did. I don't know what was wrong. He had been dx with Manx syndrome so he's been incontinent since January. He went into a coma early Monday morning and we went to the vet.

I took him myself to have him cremated Tuesday morning. I had to make sure I got Bob back. He has crossed the bridge and probably playing with your Tom as I type this.

A rat killing chemical, aminopterin, has been found in dog and cat food suspected of causing the deaths of US pets - http://abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=2975912&page=1 The experts believe the contamination may have gotten into the food through wheat treated with the chemical that was ground up and used as filler by the food manufacturing company.
