I can't believe this is happening!

Hi everyone, and welcome to those of you who are new to our "Forum Family." I haven't posted much lately as I've started a new job and been trying to tie up all the "loose ends" here at home.

One of those "loose ends" was my mammogram. I found out yesterday that it was abnormal and have to have more tests run. Needless to say I am scared, but am trying to have faith and a positive attitude. I am notorious for "borrowing trouble," but am really trying hard not to do so.

For those of you who have a mind to do so, I would appreciate the prayers. This forum has been a real sanctuary to me over the past year and hope to be able to post more soon.

    Peace,
    jane

We've missed you, Jane. So glad that your new job is going well.

I've had an abnormal mammogram myself, and I remember very well how nervous and scared I was. Mine ended up being a few benign cysts. I will be praying yours turns out to be nothing serious as well. No matter what, you will know what needs to be faced while there's time to do something about it if that proves necessary. That is a disguised blessing in itself. Hang in there! We are all here rooting for you and sending lots of positive thoughts your way.

Hi Jane, I'm so glad the job is going well and great to hear from you again.
I had an abnormal mammogram myself back in the summer and had to go for further testing. It turned out I had 2 benign cysts in the same location. I was also scared and know exactly how your feeling. I'll be praying for you that all turns out well.

          Hey Jane!

Hopefully, this is just a scare and nothing to worry about.

Not great news to have to stew about over a weekend, definitely!

          When is your follow-up scheduled??

We're all praying for you!! Please keep us updated on what's going on!!

            Hi Jane,
I had an abnormal mammogram a few years back. At the time my son was only 4 or 5 and I was so scared. Further tests were scheduled, but I had to wait through a weekend, too. That was the worst part. In the end, everything was fine and all of my subsequent mammograms have also been fine.

I'll be thinking about you. I'm sure all will be fine! The anticipation is always the worst part.

Thanks everyone, for the positive words and prayers. My tests are scheduled this week. Fortunately, my new boss is a person of faith and is very supportive.

I know that statistically that the odds are in my favor and that it is nothing. Even more important, I know that the One in whom I believe can overcome any kind of odds.

I'm a ob/gyn nurse. We see many abnormalities that turn out to be benign. I am glad to see that you are having further test immediately! Either way you will know soon so that you can sigh a big sigh of relief (which this is what will most likely happen) or you can begin early treatment, which studies have shown is the number one way to have a good outcome! Try not to worry, although I know you will and I"m sure we will all be sharing your good news next week that it was just a scare!!! We will all be waiting to hear.
                  My prayers are with you.

I had my first mamogram this year and was scared sh*tless waiting for the results...I was supposed to start having them 5 years ago......

Is this your first? Did you have one last year. I know it s*cks that it came back abnormal, but if it was fine last year & they found something, (that could actually be benign)this year, at the very least, it's a good thing to catch something before it gets out of hand....thoughts are certainly with you!

                      Hello everyone!

And thank you again for the prayers!! I had my tests this afternoon (so not fun!!!) and all is well. Just a bunch of fluid-filled cysts.

                      What a wonderful Christmas present!

                      Will post again soon.

                      Love to you all,
