Three years into mine I needed a new(er) car, it was a stretch but I managed to scrape enough pennies together to pay cash for the an 11 year old car with 114,000 miles on it; that car lasted nearly three years past my discharge.

I am sure everyone that has been in a Chapter 13 experienced various issues that arise just because life happens. One week into mine I needed four new tires. Then about a year in I needed to replace a sewer line that was under my concrete driveway.

Was it a "horrible" experience? No. Was it tough at times? Absolutely. But that's no different than in life. We hit various challenging events and we muddle through. Many Chapter 13s fail because either the debtor can't or won't stick to the budgetary constraints. It is challenging task, especially for those who won't stick to a budget.
