Got an email from discover asking to do income verification through the IRS. I’ve always kept my income info current when asked. Pretty invasive I think. I’m not signing so they will be closing the account in 60 days. I’ll have filed by then. Ugly

LOL, there have been lots of discussions on the internet about Discover asking for 4506-C verification; many say "don't do it and let them close the card"; I happen to agree.Chapter 13 (not 100%):- Burned: AMEX, Chase, Citi, Wells Fargo, and South County Bank cum Bank of Southern California

I submitted an IRS Form 4506-C for American Express . I have never had Discover ask for that form. I submitted it because I wanted higher limits. For AMEX, I have both personal and business products. The business products are guaranteed by me so I can see them asking for the information. For my purposes and needs it was not a showdown of "just close my account." I actually want the accounts. Interestingly, AMEX allows someone to link their bank accounts via Plaid so that AMEX can look at transactional history. Now that is something I won't do... even for AMEX.
If you don't want the credit products offered or need them, then you can make the decision on whether or not to supply the information. (If Discover were to ask me for the disclosure it is likely that I would not provide them. I don't need Discover.)Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
Status: (Auto) Discharged and Closed! 5/10
