Things are really getting depressing. I had my 341 Meeting Friday. It went well.

Sadly, my mother had her house paid for, made $91,000 before taxes in her last year before retirement, and 2 years later has a mortgage on her house that was paid for, has $70,000 in credit card bills, has a boyfriend that is married (mother is a widow) and I could go on and on.

The University of Georgia is talking about cutting 1500 jobs.

We are becoming a society of the have and have nots with the middle class being obliterated, in my opinion.

Now I read that gasoline is supposed to go up this summer and The American Spectator has a piece about how bad the economy is.

It's hard to be happy about a good 341 meeting thinking about everything else...

I've read that 100,000 jobs must be created a month to keep up with the people just "entering the workforce for the first time"... Throw in the 7-8 million people that are currently unemployed- things don't look well for the US... Neither Democrats or Republicans have the answer...

And you have to remember unemployment figures only consider those currently drawing benefits. Those folks that have exhausted their benefits aren't counter, even though their still out there looking for work. So the numbers are even worse than the "official' numbers.

Those 'underemployed' numbers are close to 20% - That's right - Great Depression levels.
