I hope all of this bites Amex in the ass.

The are also spiteful and cunning bastards when it comes to bankruptcy.

I don't want to deal with them anymore.

In truth they are probably doing the right thing. For to long we as Americans have had easy access to credit we oftentimes should not have had.

Amex is obviously sinking into the profiling ways of doing things. Cops pull over African Americans in lily white neighbordoods, airport security officials taking "closer looks" at folks of middle eastern descent, insurance companies charging more if you have lousy credit, and Southwest Airlines charging more if you're "fluffy".

          Credit Card profiling... wow.

American Express has been way too generous to me. I have a very large debt to them now. They did, last year, lower the limit on one of my cards. All of my Amex cards had at least a $10K limit, and the charge accounts were as high as $30K at times.

I never did like their "evaluate" as you make purchases -- on the charge cards -- scheme. They've just perfected it!

I was in a Restaurant once and they declined the charge. I got on the phone with them and asked why... they told me that they had problems with that particular business before and it was risky. They did finally approve it after I spoke to them.

            Oh Joy,

Someone else that's politically correct and brainwashed. If something is out of place then they (whoever) credit cards, cops or anyone with an interest should mentally make a note or look into things. Using your example.. A black person in a predominately white neighborhood. Yes, it should be noted, just as a white person in a predominately black neighborhood should be noted. Should these people be targeted..pulled over taken to jail for the color of their skin or where they are. Of course not. However, being aware of your surroundings is what makes people safe and helps individuals make sound judgments.

"Closer look at middle eastern folks in airports" You better believe it.. The people that hijacked the airplanes slit the throat of the stewardess and crashed a plane into a bunch of buildings. Should they be harrased or segragated and taken away.. Absolutely not.. However, airport security should take notice. Same goes if they would have been white Irish people.

I am faithfully married and have kids.. My credit cards don't get used in bars, strip clubs, sleazy hotels etc.. If my credit card started being used in such a way that is a sure flag my lifestyle has changed. My credit may need to be reviewed.

Lastly, a white man with red hair is causing problems you don't start looking for white men with black hair because it will hurt the feelings of red heads..

Timely post, AMEX just cut my "business" platnium card limit to $30k without warning. That is only $600 more than what i presently owe. Was at $42k limit.

They also dropped my LOC from $14k to $1k

Makes it tough to run a business without credit, i have heard that AMEX is notoriously difficult in dealing with in BK.

              We shall see.

I never dealt with Amex but no one here really should be complaining if they or the others reduce their credit offerings.

A lot of us forum members here that bk'd a lot of cc debt blamed the cc companies for giving it to us.

We shouldn't be upset if they are wising up and issuing less and less credit or carefully screening card holders.
