I've said it before and I get to say it again, stockpile storable food as you can. If you are inclined to, stockpile ammunition and an old style Boy Scout Handbook (eBay) as it can tell you how to live on nothing. (off the land).

Worse case you eat. Best case, nothing happens, you eat at a cheaper price purchasing at today's cost. DON'T STORE GASOLINE, IT GOES BAD and could be inconvenient after the explosion. If you have a diesel car, I do, you can store diesel safely, and the diesel will burn vegetable oil. I told you, you lit my fuse again. I can't say this enough. 'Hub

That's some of the best advice that can be given 'Hub. Check your food dates and rotate your inventory. Buy plenty of .22 ammo, the boy scout book is priceless. Also need to get a water filtration system.

A few things that most don't think about? Go to Sams Club or somewhere and get you some 50 pound bags of sugar, salt, rice, flour, etc. With these, a .22 rifle, and some fishing gear, you won't starve. You also need to look into having a water purification system.

Am I paranoid? No. I am however, getting prepared. I don't know what's coming in the future, but it doesn't look good. Everything that I'm buying can and will be used regardless of what happens, so it's a good investment for the future of my family.

Watch the sale papers from the grocery stores. Buy the deals and rotate inventory. You'll actually save money whether you ever have a crisis or not.

And another thought... get out of the cities. If our country has an economic or food disaster, the cities are going to starve fast. Better to be in the country or at least the suburbs.

My way to prep for the future is to have faith
My BK was due to me and my wife moving forward with no OK from God, I knew buying the second home we did was NOT his will, But I made it God's will

Many Christians see that hard times are coming. The biblical prophecies have warned about an unprecedented, global, end-time crisis, and we may be entering the early phases of that crisis now. Indeed, one does not need to be a believer to understand hard times are coming. Any non-believer can see it easily just by watching the news and reading internet reports. So you believe we should simply “have faith” and rely on God to protect us in the future. As a believer in Christ I believe I should make physical preparations now to prepare for very difficult times ahead of us.Scripture backs that up Proverbs 22:3 warns: “A prudent man foresees the evil, and hides himself: but the simple pass on and are punished.” Proverbs 6:6 advises mankind: “Go to the ant, you sluggard, consider her ways and be wise, which…provides her meat in the summer and gathers her food in the harvest.” These scriptures advise believers to foresee future dangers and prepare for them in advance while they can do so.God equips some animals to store up food supplies for winter, but he gives human beings minds with which we should be able to see dangers coming in the future. God warned Joseph of a terrible famine that was coming in seven years in order to give him time to make prodigious preparations for seven years to prepare for it (Genesis 41:46-49). Joseph did not “lack faith” by making advance preparations; he showed faith by acting on the warnings and making those preparations! If Joseph had not done so, Jacob’s family and many others would have starved to death. God gave Noah a 120-year advance warning about the impending Deluge, and Noah and his family acted on God’s warning and built the Ark (Genesis 6:3, 14-22 and Hebrews 11:7). God gave Lot and his family advance warning to get out of Sodom before it was destroyed. The biblical record is clear that God expects his people to act on his warnings. The Bible is full of warnings about famines, pestilences, wars, persecutions and evil times which will befall the earth in the last days. God has already given us many warnings in his Word! Like biblical personalities of old, we should act on those warnings.

Man, you nail it in the bud. Lift up you heads up 'coz redemption draweth nigh. Truly we are in the last days as the bible prophesied. With the current global economic crisis and turmoil will pave the way for the antichrist. My point of view have shifted from political to biblical. To all the posters, time for repentance and receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior as He is the only insurance policy for this present age and life eternal.

I agree with this too. So sad that non believers with the best of intentions get caught up in trying to fix a broken world that cannot be fixed. These fixes like CO2 control, spreading of the wealth, world government, separation of faith and government all have the best of intentions but only God can fix this. His fix is not of this world but of the one to follow after your individual death. It is already written of the times to come so it is no suprise to me that it is developing. My only real suprise is how many people are falling for the lies of this world. My prayers go out to those that they will see the light. Global warming is a myth to control the world finances. Social justice is a control grab that opiates the masses. Separation of government and faith only takes us further towards immorality. There will be many trying to pick this truth apart and will have some very good arguments if you are of this world. Those who believe are not of this world but only passing through it to get to the eternal resting place of heaven and in some cases hell. To the non believers Merry Solstice!

Exactly my feelings on global warming. That is a true sky is falling hoax. A great depression is a short lived period of lower economic activity. Just because you lose a job and have to cut back does not mean the sky is falling.
