I am currently unemployed and I see Unemployment Compensation listed as a fed excemption. Do I need to list my unemployment benifits as a asset. Seems it would be covered under income.

It is income in most districts. Some districts exempt it as income. YMMV.
If it is sitting in a bank account as left over cash, and your bank account mingles other funds, then you will have to exempt the left over unemployment income sitting in your bank account as a cash asset.
