repossession and registration

i have a motorcycle that is in repo status. i want to renew the registration so that i can ride it until it gets taken from me. can i get it renewed? i live in california

Repossession and registration are different things, of course. You can register it, but why do you want to pay to get it re-registered when it's due for repossession? Could be a waste of money... but that's up to you. Just don't ride it to the Registry.

I'm not sure in California, but in Florida, we can renew registrations right on line. If your registration has lapsed for a period of time, you may need to go into the Registry to deal with re-registration rather than "renewal".
