Accurate and legal car valuation?

How would I get an accurate car valuation? My car is in "poor" condition so nothing online would help and I'd like a leg to stand on for exemption purposes. Is it possible to get a legal car valuation? If I have on how do I let the court know it is exempted? This would be to protect myself from repossession due to credit card debt as I already own the car.

If this has been discussed I'm sorry. I did a search and didn't see anything.

Call your state Motor Vehicle Division and ask them what would apply as a legal valuation in your situation.
