Americredit called again today while I was out and forgot to take my cell phone with me. They didn't leave a message. I suppose they are now calling about Melinda's deficiency on her probably repossessed and probably sold-by-now truck. Anybody want to wager?

But maybe he was known as Melinda, before the surgery? Extreme lengths to keep a truck from being repo'ed though... Sex+Name change & I suppose he probably painted the truck so its no longer blue?

hehe. No problem. Because now I have your digits. You forgot to block your number. And I can call you back. In the middle of the night maybe, when I working on an AP or something.

I'll ask his wife. She'll know.

Americredit is still calling me, usually once per day between 6 and 7 p.m. The crazy thing is, every single time they call, I don't have the phone with me. I just don't be thinking about Americredit calling at that time of the day! Either out with the dogs and left it in the truck, or left it in the closet... I am sure I am short changing myself from having a TON of fun. Darn it.

So anyway, they normally call first from an unknown number which I have blocked...they get a recording to that effect... I could still answer it if I wanted to, but they don't get an option to leave a voice mail. And then they try to call back immediately with the unblocked number, which goes to the recording that says "... the number you have dialed has been changed, disconnected or is no longer in service..."... after which they could leave a voicemail, but gee... they don't. But that doesn't stop them from calling me! I don't get it.

Three times, instead of the blocked number, they called me from Arturo Ramirez's house in Annaheim, CA. That one caught me off guard so it went to regular voicemail, although, of course, there was no message. And the usual immediate call back from Americredit's number.

I guess if I really want to have some fun, I am going to have to try to remember to keep the phone with me after 5 p.m.

I may not be so disinclined to file a complaint.

Wow, the devils. Today they managed to leave a voice mail. Guess what? They are NOT looking for Melinda and her truck deficiency at all. Now they are looking for Tommy Hendricks. Yeah this is out of hand. I need to tell them my phone is not everybody's pager.

The oddest part is, I have had this number for about three years I guess. I never used to get collection calls at all. Not even for other people/wrong number. Now that I have filed BK, I am getting collection calls and they aren't for me lol. Isn't it ironic?

Do you think anyone is messing with you? Maybe giving your # and fake names as personal references on Americredit applications?

Not really messing with me, per se. I have a friend with a teenage son who is a real pistol and is constantly inventing new ways to be stupid. I suspect that teenager might be the "Tommy", they are looking for. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out the kid has been applying for credit and loans with a false last name, or two or three. But I also suspect that my number came up in one of the skip trace databases as a possible contact for "Tommy", and it is actually very easy for me to understand how that happened.

I already gave my friend a heads up to check out that possibility, by the way.

As to the Melinda episode, it was very short lived, and I think somebody simply erred in some paperwork or data entry, maybe transposed numbers or something.

I think the two events are unrelated and coincidental.

Yeah I WISH it was one of my creditors! Oh how I wish! No such luck though.

They came with a broom and a dustpan and swept it all up. She asked me if I was being serious and I said yes, they did a very good job, thank you so much for sending them to clean up that mess.

Wow, the neighbor... his wife passed away Thursday. Her name was Helen, not Melinda. Maybe I should call Americredit and let them know. I mean, if they are going to call me looking for people I don't know, maybe I should call and update them on people they don't know.
