    Repo after filing?

I have two vehicles, an SUV and a car that we filed with intent to surrender. Do I call the finance company or wait for them to contact me? And when we surrender them does that show up as a REPO on our credit report still?

It will not hurt to call and make arrangements since your statement of intentions indicated a surrender. Both vehicles on your credit report should only say "included in bankruptcy" with a zero balance. Nothing about a repo will appear.

Yes, what ROB37LAW said. No reason you can't call and arrange the surrender. I called the lender on my 5th wheel and they picked it up within two weeks.

Now they did just send me a letter telling me their intentions regarding the property (private sale sometime after 3/1/2010). Had a disclaimer on the top saying they were aware of the bankruptcy and that if I was granted a discharge I would not owe them anything. If they get more than I owe they will send me the difference, good luck with that.

Wow, I have like 4k equity in the SUV, but I don't see them cutting me a check lol. That's why I am reluctant to surrender it, for frear the trustee will want to handle the sale of it.
